I don't like really unusual names, but don't like common names either! I'm a teacher and see how hard it is when a child has an unusual name (bullying, pronunciation etc), however I don't like names that are too common ( for example I have 4 Daniels in one class this year- nice name but the poor boys never know who is being spoken too!)

So, for girls we are struggling, but at the minute choices we like are:

Phoebe (too common still?)
Felicity
Fleur
Eliza

What do people think?

Felicity is really nice. I like phoebe too but it does seem to be getting quite popular xx

Yes I teach a few Phoebes which puts me off (although got to say they have all been lovely girls!)
I love Felicity and like Fliss for short, but when I mention it no one else seems keen!

I love Felicity but OH said no way. I like Eliza too, I was put off by Fleur as OH said it sounded like someone being sick :(

We have a family friend who caller her daughter phoebe and she is only one of 2 phoebes in her school - it's s lovely name although people can't spell it for some reason lol

Pheebee
Feebee
Feybey
Etc lol

I like flower names! One in particular keeps coming up, I think it might be a sign! Can't believe you are 34 weeks now, exciting! x

I personally think teachers have the hardest time picking names, as soon as you find one you like, you come across *that* child! Both hubby and I are teachers, I'm primary, he's secondary, so we have had to rule out a heck of a lot of names because we know too many kids between us! And I work at two schools, which makes it worse.

Out of that list I'd say probably Felicity is the nicest one xx

I like Felicity. I worked with a Felicity who was known as Flic

Phoebe is pretty too.

my friend works in a nurswery and has told me the names that are usually given to really horrid children lol ill say a name weve been dwiscussing or whatever and she'll be all "thats.... nice" lol then go into a tangent about what that child did lol
