Strep B test?

My next appointment is on my due date :( maybe I should ring them. I think I might do that. You are right, if I am they might just do it for me, especially as I'm consultant led.

Go for it Robyner, it's obviously bothering you and would be a weight off your mind. Just don't stress yourself out too mucb!

just regarding strep b ladies.....it can come and go within hours. so don't worry about getting tested now as such.

don't want to worry anyone but i was tested when i first went into labour = negative and by the time i had delivered, i had it.

Hannah had to get antibiotcs and spent some time in special care...

Be interesting to see what they do if i have another...xx

Yes it can come and go, but chances are if you have it at any point in pregnancy, you can pass it on during labour, which is why if you've tested positive for it at any point, you'll be given anti-biotics during labour no matter what. You'll also be given anti-biotics during any following labour because again, chances are, you could pass it on during labour without even knowing you have it, as it's not a routine test. In countries that test for it routinely, although it varies, they test from 35 weeks generally. So if you do have another Samsgirl, being as there was GBS present, you should be given anti-biotics regardless to prevent passing on the infection and going through more complications.
