Strange periods and hello!

Hello,

I am new to this message board so I wanted to introduce myself. I am 27, have been married for 11 months and trying for a baby for 2 months since coming off the pill. I thought it would be so easy! This is my 3rd cycle and I am going to now use the ovulation sticks to help me conceive. I am starting to become obsessed (!) and all your message have comforted me knowing you are all going through the same thing. If only I could just let it happen!!!

My cycle is 35 days (grrrr!) and I always have regular periods but the last period was very strange. It was heavy for only 2 days and then just trailed off into nothing....very odd for me! I just wanted to ask if since you have been trying to conceive, has anyone had weird periods that are not usual? I am like clockwork so this was weird for me. I know I am not pregnant as I did a test last night...maybe it was an early miscarriage???

Any help would be appreciated!

Welcome to the forum & good luck TTC

Women's time of month can sometimes be a little out of the ordinary if your body is under pressure or your stressed etc. These are just the normal reasons

If you think you may be pregnant I would test again in 7 days from the first.

Unusual bleeding for me sadly turned into weeks of a nightmare & my pregnancy didn't happen but while the hospital tests were saying negative (which was wrong) my tests were saying positive (which was right) so I would follow the home test reading as accurate until it tells me other wise. Hope that makes sense. What home test did you use?

Hi Lynsey...

Welcome to the forum. You and I have a lot in common girl!!!

This is our 3rd month trying to conceive after coming off the pill in Jan.

My cycle is 33 days, and since coming of the pill my periods have been heavy, light, lasting for a day or up to 7 days. Basically it can take up to a year for your cycles to get back to normal after being on the pill especially for me who was on it 7 years. Its very normal for your periods to be all over the place so dont fret. Its so annoying though, especially when your trying so hard for a baby, pinpointing ovualtion is like finding a needle in a haystack lol!!

Im going to try OPK's this month too. Have a look at the thread I started in TTC under 'Boosting Your Fertility' lots of good hints there to help us girls TTC on our way to preggyland

Hi girls!

Thanks for your lovely messages. This forum is great! You are right, it probably is a combination of stress and coming off the pill. I did get myself quite worked up last month praying I was pregnant so I am going to relax more this month!

Wobbles, I have just read back some of your old posts and it sounds like you have had a horrible time. I hope your cycle gets back to normal so you can try like mad again. I used the Clear blue digital pregnancy test for the first time. Do you know which one is the more reliable to use?

Jaidybaby, can't believe how similar we are! I am on day 12 of my cycle and am due to ovulate on 21st if all goes to plan. I am going to start OPK's from 18th. I was on the pill for 10 years! Feel free to contact me too!

Wobbles, I have just read back some of your old posts and it sounds like you have had a horrible time. I hope your cycle gets back to normal so you can try like mad again. I used the Clear blue digital pregnancy test for the first time. Do you know which one is the more reliable to use?

Your like me I had a good read around. I felt pretty lonely at time as I moved to a new town/area so my rant was the 2nd post I started

I bought some digital last week but haven't used them yet. I plan to on the weekend with hope I'm back down to negative.

The ones I used were Tescos (pink & white box) 6/7 quid for 2 & clearblue (not the digital ones). I also used 'First responce' before I went back for one of my HCG tests which gave me a negative result so we were happy things looked like they were going back to normal which was WRONG my HCG was above 200 & it gave a negative

Its nice. I've only spoke to a few of you on here breifly through posts but its gave me some sanity I must admit.

Yer I wasn't sick but I was always VERY tired & grouchy!

I really didn't like him either. I loved him but I didn't like him

Before we found out he had noticed I was off with him & thought I was having second thoughts about us. As we'd only just moved in he wandered if I was regretting it. I didn't notice it at the time but now I think back I can see why he'd think that.
