Has anyone ever had stomach pain (up near your rib cage) for 3 days, it comes and goes like really bad acid. I had a runny belly on sunday and seem to have it a bit today to, not been to toilet in between those days, probably cause not eaten a lot. I went to the docs and she said just try and eat a little bit like a biscuit and drink water in bits. but today i am hungry so i have eaten. In between the pain i feel fine, just dont know what is doing it :(

I've had something similar a couple of time, I had it last in June and had to stop TTC for a month cos of the pills the doctor gave me.

My pain was in the middle, just below the boobs, immediatly underneath the ribs/breastbone.

I can't remember what the doctor called it but he said something like "it's an inflamation of the gastric ...... something or other"

My understanding of it was the because I often get bad acid indegestion that the esophagus(sp?) had gotten inflamed so he gave me pills that reduce the amount of acid in the stomach to give the tube a chance to heal, I finished them about 3 weeks ago and have been fine since but am avoiding anything with even the slightest amount of acid (so no fruit or fruit juice for me) and trying my best to eat little and often so the acid has no chance to build up at all.

If you've got the same I had, maybe you could try to avoid alcohol, spicy food, anything even slightly sour or carbonated drinks and drink lots of cold water and try eating a small portion of food every couple of hours rather than the 3 meals a day.

Hope it gets better soon

Sounds similar to that.

No alcohol!! i havent had any since friday, i'm gagging!!! lol and i got a party or two to go to at the weekend.

Thanks for that though Mrs_metal :D

I was just reading about Irratable bowl syndrome, does anyone have that? how long do bouts of IBS last? I still seem to have runny bottom if i try and poop :( although if i dont try i dont need to do anything.

Anybody know whether it sounds like IBS?
