Hi ladies. I had to have an episiotomy for forceps delivery when LO was born six days ago. I'd been hearing about how painful it would be to pee with stitches but had been absolutely fine up to today and now OMG it stings!!

Just wondering if it could be that the stitches are infected now as it seems strange that they were fine for the first five days...? I thought I'd got away with it!

Keep it clean with water, you can get calendula and put in on a gauze to ease the pain. try to air your ladybits keep your underwear and pads squeaky clean to avoid infection , it should stop stinging soon I had this too between 7-14 days swab come back clean x

I had the same. I found out two of my stitches had come out n the wound was slightly opened. I used witch hazel and aloe Vera wipes from Tesco in a yellow packet to keep it all clean n infection free and healed faster n poured warm water down wen I weed for a few days x

when you pee sit on the loo and put your hands on the floor in front of you the pee wont touch your stiches i was in tears every time i peed until someone told me to do this also a few drops of tea tree oil on your pads xx

I second the tea tree oil. I put 2/3 drops on a clean pad and it helps healing. Also have a shallow bath and put some tea tree in there too and whirl it around near the stitches.
I never stung once so I think it was down to the tea tree for me xx
