Stitches & bleeding.

Couple of questions here! This is day 8 since the birth of my wee fella. I had an episiotomy so obviously have stitches. About 2 days after giving birth I was able to come off the painkillers. It was stingy but not worthy of painkillers anymore. The MW has checked a few times & says they're healing nicely but I can feel a spot where it's tight when I'm moving, while sitting down/getting up etc. Is this normal? When can I expect to no longer notice that anything happened down there?

Second question. My loss after giving birth was quite heavy for a few days but then it eased off to what I can only describe as a light period type bleed. Last night I passed a clot (friend told me its quite common) & since then I'm bleeding as I would with a normal period. How long can this go on for? I'm used to wee 3 day, light periods so this is driving me bananas!

I had stitches with my firat pregnancy and i felt like there was tight spots too i can only assume its where its starting to heal. mw said i was healing well too so just keep look out and see how it is when the stitches dissolve. as for bleeding i passed a clot day after coming home qnd my bleeding was heavy then went watery like then kept coming back heavy. i havnt bled today so i assume its stopped.im 2 weeks post having baby today xx

I'm 10 days post so I guess I shouldn't be expecting miracles.

Also if your over doing things it can increase the bleeding.. well im expecting to start again as my head is all over the place and so much to do daily its unreal xx

I bled heavy for around 3 weeks. Some days it was light and I thought it was going away, then boom it would be back really heavy again.
Breastfeeding makes it heavier too.

I think I was around 5 weeks before I felt "normal" down there. Although when I have a root around down there now I can feel that its different with my hands. Other than that all is normal!

My bleeding is starting to tail off now and I'm 9 days post delivery.
Stitches have stopped pinching so guess they've dissolved! X

Still feckin' bleeding. It's lighter than before but still there. It's driving me insane.

It does my head in jilly. It's like 1 big annoying, never ending period. Grr!

I know,it bloody sucks (no pun intended) i have a day where its stopped and then the next day it starts again, not heavy or dark red but still annoying x

I bled for 6 weeks, about 2 weeks of that was heavy - cant remember when I felt normal - I had a 2nd deg tear and a lot of stitches - but the grazes hurt more!

I think with Alice it stopped stinging as much after 11 days but blood for a few weeks. xx

Oh i agree about the grazes i had them also and they stung x
