I'm now 29 weeks and am still waiting to fall in love with a girls name. We are team yellow but we decided on our boys name so easily and love it and it hasn't changed at all. Girls however have been really tricky. We now have a list of girls names we like but I just can't imagine using any of them for my daughter if you see what I mean. I'm really hoping if it is a girl I look at her and just pick the right name :)

Our list so far is Lillian Kate, Amber May, Mollie Rose and Matilda Rose.

This evening I also saw Rosa and Raya which I also like.

Any thoughts and more ideas would be much appreciated xxx

Oh my goodness where have the last 29 weeks gone?! I love Matilda Rose and Mollie Rose from your list. Have you chosen Theo if you have a boy? I think I remember you mentioning it, it's a gorgeous name! Sorry
I'm not much help, I find girls names much harder too! Xx

I know I have no idea where the last 29 weeks have gone! Yep Theo Jack for a boy :) xxx

You know I am a massive Amber fan!

It's pretty and not too popular. I do like Matilda too.

I prefer Molly spelt with the Y

Raya is OK - sounds a bit too "made up" for me (says the freak who likes Indiana  )

Rosa is very pretty

Sorry I am no help. We never had a girls name last time and this time we have no names for either gender.

I am also edging towards Amber May, I don't know any other Ambers and like the fact is slightly unusual and modern but still quite classic sounding (not sure of that made any sense!).

We have a tradition in our family of ending names with 'ie' :)

I like Matilda, but the only thing is my mum is on a bit of a one woman mission to get me to use it and it's kind of put me off a bit. I went round her house the other day and even her hairdresser started very unsubtly talking about the name Matilda. She doesn't like our boys choice (Theo) not that she's said it out loud but just keeps on about how she knows soooo many Theo's and it's soooo common. Well it's tough with that one as we love it :)

The only thing with Rosa is does it sound too old Italian lady?

Names are so hard! xxx

Names are hard. We couldn't even name our cat

Hmmm, Rosa is a bit old Spanish / Italian lady-ish but also classic?

Do you like variations of it? Rosie? Even Rose?

I do like Rosie and Rose so they are possibilities. I just wish there was a name that I instantly loved. Max just fitted from day one and even now I look at him and he's 100% a Max. I always loved the name Amelia and our girls name for Max was Emilia but my OH step nan's middle name is Amelia and I just don't want a family politics issue if you see what I mean, but if we had Emilia would they even associate it? The surname is Hart and I think Emilia Rose Hart is pretty and classic and Max and Emilia go well. Maybe I've just been over thinking it all along!

You had anymore inspiration? xxx

Amelie
Emily

Similar but not the same?

I am the same with James' name - we had it from day dot.

Tried Amelie, OH vetoed, got Emily's in the family and close friends children. I think if its a girl she can just be called 'girl' :) xxx

I love Mollie rose on your list , my great aunt was called Molly . I also love Amelia too. Amelia was second on my girls list but mark didn't like it. But I love it and both my mum and marks mum has suggested it because they love the name so much. We are having Emily Mae :). I thought you had Sienna rose on your list taffy ? That's pretty too :)

Oh yeah also have Sienna Rose on the list :)

I think I'm just going to have to see if it's a girl what she looks like. It just feels weird not having a definite name like we did with Max xxx

I like Amber and Rosa, but I love Emilia :)

Well OH has now vetoed Rosa but he does like Cora, which surprised me. We would probably use Cora Elizabeth which I think sounds nice so that's another one added the list :) xxx

Ok so now we're thinking Kora Elizabeth so with a K instead of a C? Xxx

The only problem I can see because its more common way to spell the name with a C , that's how will write it down instead of the K .

Yeah also I think I prefer the look of Cora, looking at it written down xxx

Hahaha taffy you really are struggling with girls names ain't you. And because you have a boys name sorted all along you know you will have a girl :) xxx

I know it's sods law isn't it! There's either a boy in there saying 'I'm Theo' stop stressing, or a girl saying 'just bloody pick a name mother' :) If it is a girl I'll probably take one look at her and choose a completely different name than all the ones I've been talking about. You watch there'll be a birth announcement introducing Doris :) xxx
