Hi Ladies,

Sorry I disappeared for a while, been busy then went on hols. I'm enjoying the break tbh just thought I'd come back and see how everyone is.

LouiseB I'm gutted for you, just read the end of your journal. I don't have anything else to say cos I know it completely sucks. I hope beyond everything that it will work next try xxx

Maybe baby looks like you are getting somewhere am v jealous of your private care! Wish we could afford it too.....!

I'm still waiting to have my surgery/2nd hysteroscopy in about 3 weeks. Basically been abandoned until then. I can't book next appt till I've had it, dunno why. They also aren't sure its the polyp causing multiple m/cs (might be pcos) so I'm worried its something else. It was nice to get away on holiday, I don't feel any different about the whole thing though. I still feel sad but not completely hopeless, just getting annoyed with the wait. Oh, and the friends I had who weren't pregnant are now also expecting - I think there's about 10 of our friends now who are preggers.

I realised today I haven't had 21 day bloods done - did everyone get those with GP or fertility doc? it will be our 3rd fertility appt so I'm annoyed I haven't had it done. I have all the symptoms of low progesterone and also my pregnancies all seem to end before the baby gets a heartbeat, not sure if this is relevant/linked with progesterone. I don't want to have another m/c before they find out its too low.

Enough rambling now. I will keep coming back on to see how everyone is. I just get a bit tired of all the 'it'll happen for you soon' things because no-one really knows if it will - sorry that sounds a bit mean, its not meant to I promise.

Love to all xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hey Sarah,

Good to hear from you, hope you had a lovely hol. :)

I've been researching uterine surgery and have read a bit about polyps, they basically have a blood supply and can take all the blood away from a developing baby.

You don't need a specialist to 21 day bloods your GP could do that for you, have you had CD1 bloods, LH, FSH and thyroid function, if not have those as well.

I don't know how PCOS causes M/C's but generally with PCOS your hormones could be out of whack so maybe that's what they mean.

You're definitely OVing anyway so that's a good thing.

Have you discussed what's next after surgery?

xx

Thanks Maybe - Think my ov will be all wrong this month as last time I had hysteroscopy it delayed it by a week or so but could use ov tests to get 21 day bloods done. Is it meant to be a week after you ov? cos I ov around day 24 usually..... yep had the day 1 and thyroid etc done I think that's where they spotted the high testosterone and found the pcos.

No they won't talk to me about what they will do next until after the hysteroscopy, they briefly mentioned I might take clomid but then also said they weren't sure what was causing m/c. They won't even let me book next appt with fertility doc which is very annoying! Just feel like we are getting nowhere at the mo.

If you don't mind me asking how much was your private consultation? Ours is the same doctor as the nhs one but if its not too expensive we might consider it. We have money in our savings I just get impression that hubby doesn't mind the wait for things where as I think so far we have been treated terribly by the NHS and been made to wait ages. I'm really glad things are happening for you xxxx

Hiya Sarah :) It's nice to hear from you

Thanks for your kind comments, it was pretty rough on us :(

Don't really have much choice but to try again. I was starting to feel ok about our next attempt but as time goes on and i get stuck into having nothing to do but wait it starts to sap all my excitement and optimism away...

I'm not sure a cd21 test is all that important considering your having hysteroscopies and ultrasounds.

It's a basic test to check if you have ovulated and it is only accurate for that one cycle if you ovulate on cd 14. If you have PCOS then it will be assumed that you aren't ovualting every cycle anyway.

I think something going on in your uterus would be much more likely to cause repeat mcs...

I'm glad you are alright anyway. Well, kind of. You'll get there

Hi Hun,

Oooh I'm glad you said you OV'd late after your hysteroscopy, I had that when I had treatment on my cervix, i'm praying like mad for late OV so I can try this month after my op!

My initial consultation was £125 so not too bad but the hysteroscopy and surgery are what's made it really expensive.

If you would only be paying to see the same person, there probably isn't much point as I wouldn't pay the 3k + for your op when it's not long away now.

I would call and ask a few questions-

- How long after the operation do you have to wait to TTC?

- Ask them if they can let you know what the treatment plan is after your op and ask if they want to run any further tests, you might be able to do some whilst your waiting.

- Do they think they will give you Clomid after the treatment and if not why not?

I know my hospital told me a load of shite most of the time but they would always be willing to discuss things with me.

If you can't get any answers then you could consider seeing someone else, where are you based again?

How long til your op now, I guess we will be having similar surgery?

xx

Hi Girls

Lou - unfortunately there is a high risk of mc with PCOS - the more mcs you have the more the risk too apparantley. But I agree that uterine probs are more likely to be causing probs. At least I hope so, the fertility doc isn't sure either way. They are however quite sure I ovulate as I've been pg a few times and my cycles have got down to about 35 days.

Maybe - wouldn't go private until after op if its 6 months or whatever for next fertility appt. Already waited 9 weeks for op! We are gonna TTC straightaway as after last hysteroscopy I got pg in a few weeks. I have asked those questions but they won't commit to any answers until I see doc again. I reeeeeeeeeally want to get pg naturally after the op to see if I can maintain the pregnancy. I just hope it doesn't take a year again :(.

My op is on 31st. Due to OV a week or so later but I'll have to see how I feel. When's yours? xxxxxxx

ps. I'm based in Calderdale in West Yorkshire. I go to Halifax hospital..... its ok. Lol.

Hi Hun,

I think/hope you and me will be ok after our ops, when is yours again?

xx

mine is 31st august.... bet yours is sooner even though I've waited nearly 3 months! xxxxx

Ahh not long at all then, mine's Monday, at least I'll be able to fill you in on what it's like and soon enough we can be TTC buddies. :)

Also Hun, I think hysteroscopic surgery is a bit more specialist so that's why your wait would have been a bit longer.

xx
