still cant decide on a girls name!

so after about 4 months of pushing for Cecilia its just not going to happen lol im kinda gutted tbh but we both have to agree. basically hubby says he doesn't like ANY girls names but the ones he has said are "okay i guess" are

Kate (named Katherine as im not keen on shortened versions of names)
Lucia (Pronounced Lucy-a and who will probably mainly get lucy)

most likely

Katherine Emelia

or

Lucia Faith

hes still not totally 100% and i'm gutted that i had to drop my 3 favourite names, Louisa (he has a louise in his family), Emelia (we already have an emily in the family and its a bit close, especially with the middle name i had chosen) and Cecilia (he just wont go for it) but its give and take so i think these are the ines but we still cant decide

what do people think?

for boy its either Luke or Alexander (mnore likely luke if it looks like a luke)

also if anyone has any suggestions of fairly traditional names (my fave!) - and not Lilly or olivia or ivy as theyre out- then please throw them my way.

Hmmm, I don't think all of these are necessarily traditional but I wouldn't exactly say they were modern so this is probs not a lot of help!

Julia, Alexis, Ayda, Abigail, Camilla (maybe milly for short?), Claudia, Eleanor, Erica, Grace, Hazel, Jessica, Jasmine, Libby, Lucinda, Melody, Nora, Polly, Sasha, Ellen, Bethan, Brooke, Sophie, Chloe, Charlotte, Zoe.

I love Lucia Faith, and also really like Emelia!

How closely related is the Emily in your family? I love Emelia. My husband on the other hand will only agree if I change it to Amelia. But I know a girl I don't like by that name so won't have it. I don't think unless it was a niece the similarity would bother me. I really like Emma, but it's my cousins daughters name. I'm tempted to put it on my list anyway.

Do you like Katie? It's quite similar to Katherine I find girl's names sooooo hard. There's lots I'd have as a middle name but for some reason I just don't like them enough to have a first name.

Same with Chloe, Erin and Elizabeth...

If we ever have another baby it wont have a name as we only had one name and that was a boys name.

emily is quite close plus the middle name is similar to her middle name too. we also have an Amy so its just too close to things.

cant have katie as it rhymes with our surname and i have a friend katie who might think its named after her and other friends would get a bit huffy probably.

plus i dont like shortened names as christian names personally. if we have a "kate" it will be Katherine, not Kate.

i liked phoebe but we have a close family friend with a phoebe
hubby doesnt like isabella (quelle bloody surprise!!)
and i dont like any of those other names enough lol

weve gone against emelia now as it just is TOO close to emily and the middle name was similar too, also the louisa/louise thing is too close. o want their name to be different from anyone else in our fsmily.

I loved Lucia but it didn't sound right as our surname begins and ends with an r so we went for Lucie. It would have been Lucy but one of my colleagues is a Lucy and I didn't want to copy lol

I love the lu-chi-a sounding one. In fact that's the first way I heard if it. There's a book - my favourite - calked Lucia Lucia by Adrianna trigiani but hubby wouldn't go for the Italian pronunciation.
