Hi everyone

I'm 34 weeks now, up to now things have gone pretty smooth but this week has been a different story! Ive been getting what can only be described as sciatica in my back and when I walk or twist my back I end up with shooting pains in my leg, so painful!
To top it off I'm feeling drained and have woken up today with a sore throat and fleeling cold.

Is anyone else experiencing the sciatica and what did u do to help it?

Thanks everyone!

Xxx

Hey :) I suffered with sciatica pre - pregnancy but it became so much worse when I was about 20 weeks pregnant. My GP referred me to Physio and as I was pregnant I got an appointment quite quickly. I had 2 appointments and feel better than I did before I was pregnant, which isn't bad when I'm 39 weeks atm :)
My physio taught me some exercises to do at home and she did an exercise on my leg whilst putting pressure on my back which helped as well. Posture is really important so standing/sitting straight and also birthing balls can be a massive help. I also brought a maternity back support belt but I was using it when my bump wasn't very big so if you do get one, make sure it's the right size. Definitely go see your GP asap and don't suffer with it. Hopefully as you've only just started to suffer with it now, it should go away after pregnancy :) feel free to message me if you want to talk anymore and I hope you feel better soon xxx

Hiya I suffer with this started with it at 30 weeks. Physio has helped soooo much and sitting on yoga ball. I feel your pain it's awful! Mines eased a bit now baby is starting to become engaged. I found it best to not sit still too long as painful as it is to keep moving at times it does help. Oh and I used a heat pad on my lower back.
good luck
