Sex  whats that!! i've forgotten what to do

hope all is well kina

I totally lost my libido til about a week ago

I'm fine, not too worried about it as it's not much, it's just horrible seeing even a teeny amount as you don't expect to when your pg!!

I haven't had it in this pregnancy but i did in the other 2. I was told it's very common.

hi kina hun didnt you mention before that you had a cervical erosion hun?
(sorry not sure if it was you or not) if so its probably that hun i would definately mention it to your midwife to be on safe side xxxxxxx

Yeah I had one with Ella so I guess it's still the same now :) Got to ring to make an appointment tomorrow, am hoping I can see the nice mw on Tuesday (they're there Tues and Weds) as I need to get my downs testing down.

Hi Kina,

I had a huge bleed once after sex when I was 21 weeks it was so scary!!!

But no cause for the bleed was found, they say that these things happen sometimes, my cervix was tightly closed. I think its fairly common to spot after sex so im sure there is no cause for concern.

We were told to try and refrain from sex; it scared the poop out of us anyhow so havent been 'doing it' so to speak :rotfl:

Apparently you can bleed after sex because the blood capillaries inside swell during pregnancy, however if the baby is too low and has not 'rooted' properly you can miscarry, but that is rare and only (I think) in older women.

I had that a couple of times with Damien hun, it's just the cappilaries (sp?) in your cervix which are sensitive to pressure when you are pregnant. Apparently, your cervix turns a bit inside out so the more sensitive bit in now on the outside. I'd mention it to the MW or doc, but I'm sure it's nothing hun if it was only a tiny amount.

dont know if this helps but with the million mags i have read (spot the first time pg!! lol) im sure i read in one of them that its usual to sometimes have some spotting after sex during pregnancy.

I have never heard that, where did you hear that?

I read spotting during pregnancy can be normal and caused by lesions of the cervix .

Hope I've spelt that right

From someone experienced in having babies (and sex)..

How experienced? A health professional or someone who has just popped a few kids out?

Sorry for picking up on this, but it could be quite a worry provoking post for some of our older members and from what I can find there is no such risk.

Icecream,

I dont think you should go around posting things like that unless you know 100% thats its factual and you have evidence to back it up; especially the older woman thing as this may give a lot of our members a cause for concern if they have been in that situation.

As I posted previously I had a bleed at 21 weeks and like I said there was no cause found and reading something like you have put about miscarriage is somewhat frightening and I think anyone else who has been in my situation will agree.

Im not an 'older' woman but what you have said has made me think because my bleed was unexplained.

What do you mean by a baby being too low??? Even if the baby was 'low' there is no way sex is going to harm it as im sure no one has a partner with a penis that long that it can go right up past the cervix and start prodding the waters?????

Sorry.

In fairness, no i do not have evidence because it is obviously not me it has happened to, but I do know that it happened, so the person is sure and not guessing.

The older woman thing may have been a guess though, as far as i know based on what happens to the body if you leave it too late to have children.

I am not a professional though, and cannot confirm this, but it can't be denied that it is best to start one's family as early as possible..

i only bled with my eldest due to cervical errosion havent had it with the other 2 though so will wait and see if it happens with this one

Had spotting with first 2 pregnancies. I was aged 24 & 26.
I had absolutely no bleeding with my last pregnancy, aged 36. We had sex..... although we stayed clear of the chandalier swinging!! :rotfl:
