and i have to say i'm really impressed with the staff!

I went in on monday with severe kidney pain, after lots of tests throughout the week, inc a scan on my knidneys (they also scanned baby so got some bonus pics), they have finally come to the conclusion that i had a severe kidney infection (worrying as this can bring on premature labour) and from the scan they said that my kidneys aren't draining prpperly, which causes some pain, and can sometimes happen during pregnancy. Lucky me eh? Anyone had or heard of this?

I was on the maternity ward, and all these women were leaving with babies and i didn't!! I'm now really impatient for the last 10 weeks to be over!

I had a very bad kidney unfection years ago, to the point I kept fainting within minutes of each episode, so, I never had it whilst pregnant.

I was in hopsital for 5 days, on a drip, and having to drink a very thick syrup pear juice but that tasted very lovely lol

Unfortunately, being pregnant will count out the treatment I had and the tablets. But I do understand the pain you are in and really do feel sorry for you.

This was all whilst I was in Spain so not sure what they do over here. I kept getting high fevers, bad stabbing pains, unable to move, it was my right kidney and if I hadn't been rushed to hospital by a very nice hotel night manager, my kidney would have failed within the hour.

Unfortunately, the best medicine, LOTS of water, keep away from salt, rest.................the hospital will do the rest.

Have they given you any antibiotics?

Oh God, sounds like you were in terrible pain.!
They gave me antibiotics for the first few days but i had a bad reaction to them. they seem to have worked on the infection though. Saw midwife yesterday and she said pain that i have now will just carry on until baby born so advised me to stop working now.
