Hi guys

Well I had a bad bad night, some v painful contractions. I woke up to quite alot of discharge which was very watery, white and cloudy, I also had a little leak.

I saw my midwife at my routine appointment and she said to go to hospital just to be on the safe side and to check it was not my waters, it wasn't.

They put me on the moniter and then gave me an internal and took a speculum, it was not pleasant but not awful, not as bad as I thought an internal would be. She was going to give me a sweep until she realised my cervix was

High

Closed

Posterior

I am not ripe or ready for imminent labour.

She also said my bub was back to back ! She is approx 71b so has grown the last few weeks for sure. Still 3/5 palable.

If i had been told by any midwife along the way baby was back to back I would have been bouncing and crawling on all 4's much more.....is it too late to get her to turn?

So...all in all pretty rubbish news, labour is not imminent, I may be hanging on weeks, the only good thing is that my cervix was soft. All these brutal pains have been doing nothing to dilate me. So I feel frustrated, bored, fed up, I know I am only 39 weeks but sick of not sleeping, not being able to walk, get comfy in any position grrrr...

I think I will be overdue and on here alot, looks like I might be last in the april race or even in the may race... :?

Glad to hear nothing is wrong :) But :( no sign of LO appearing just yet.

And nope, not to late to try turning at all. Rock on all fours a few times a day, sleep on your side (left is best) if you don't already. Also during the day have a rest and lie on your side.

Don't slouch or lean back in chairs. Ensure you sit tilting forward, with your knees higher than your hips.

If you have a gym ball give that a try also. Rocking side to side and back and forth on it is good. Again, tilt forward and hips higher than knees with feet flat on the floor.

   Don't worry hun, get bouncing on the ball, and rocking on all fours. There is still time to turn baby around.

I think my cervix is like yours as I still can't reach it. I have a feeling I'll be going overdue too. At least we can whinge together

I am glad you are ok, but how frustrating to hear baby is showing no signs of arrival yet, especially after all the pain and discomfort you've been going through.
It is silly no one told you about baby being back-to-back before. Maybe she only just moved? I hope you're able to shift her around before the big day, I am sure you will.

Hope things keep progressing and you are feeling well.

oh hun

I'll be around for a while yet!! :) Maybe your due date is actually the original date you had?? would make a lot of sense

Just try keep on all fours/birthing ball, knees always lower than hips etc etc and baby will prob turn. Even if not now they can turn in labour or at anytime xxx

aww hu sorry its not great but that you are ok
i have a feeling my little man has gone back to back again in the past week so you might be able to turn yours
goodluck

Aww hun  Don't worry there is still time to turn bubs. With my first I was advised to do all the things the girls have said. Just spend as much time as you can on all fours, I got a few cushions and propped myself forward over the coffee table and watched telly. Don't panic if baby doesn't turn though as they will normally turn during labour.

FWIW if you feel your tummy you can usually work you where your little one is lying escpecially if they have their back facing outward toward it. You can feel a long curve and its solid, as you run your hand up and along, usually one side or the other of your tummy. And then on the opposite side is where the feet and hands etc are, so slightly different shape and feel.

I can always feel which side my LO is lying. Favours the left with back facing outward from my tummy, but will flip around as so inclined, though only to rest on the opposite side. But quite often is almost straight down my tummy, just a fraction over to one side or the other.

Erm hope that makes sense.
