Hi girls

This is quite amusing so I thought I'd share and get your advice.

Background info: The only people who know about our BFP is my Mum and Dad. And I've been doing my damned not to let anyone else guess - anyhoo

A couple of days ago my Hubby's inebriated friend rang in the middle of the night to ask if I was pregnant ?!?!?

We went out for a meal with them a few weeks back. I done the usual, drove so I wouldn't have to drink and I haven't seen them socially before so they are not aware that prior to BFP I used to smoke. And the fatal flaw (apparently) is I didn't eat prawns!

The funny thing was I said to Hubby I don't mind going out for a meal with people I don't know because I can just say that I don't like prawns etc. NEVER did I think they would guess!

Anyway friend rung hubby today to apologise where upon hubby told him that I was devestated that I thought he was calling me fat by asking if I was pregnant (boys eh? :shakehead: ) Now the friend is calling me so say sorry but I feel really bad continuing with the joke especially when he finds out he was right.

What shall I do when he rings? Carry on the joke or just say that I don't like prawns and that I didn't think he was calling me fat - hubby was winding him up? Don't want to tell them the truth because they aren't that close.

Sorry for the essay!

I would point them to "google" and remind them you can eat prawns when you are pregnant (obviously as long as they are cooked and not raw).......so that would instantly shut them up and scupper their idea.

Just laugh it off, it's no biggie. I'm sure they'll forgive you the white lie when you come clean at a later date :)

*LOL* that same thing happened me while pregnant with Naomi. A friend noticed I didn't have prawns...or oyster sauce - in the chinese. I don't like either but I can't tell a lie without going scarlet so when my friend asked I had to say - yes but shhhhh!

She laughed so much she nearly fell off her chair. :rotfl:

I would just say the same - yes I am since you asked directly. But that's just me I guess!

Sue

I would carry on the joke then when you feel ready to tell everyone you can apologise and explain why you let them believe you weren't pregnant............I'm sure once its all out in the open they will understand.

Update - think the poor sod is too scared to ring me - when he does I'm just going to say I'm not really that bothered but he shouldn't go round asking questions like that.

I think its a bit rude really - yes I am pregnant but if we wanted to tell them we would have done - and I'm certainly not telling anyone before Husbands Mum & Dad. :wall:

When my bestfriend was pregnant she came over for dinner and I knew straight away that she was pregnant but I never once asked her because it's her choice when she tells people. She told me as she was coming out of the hospital from her twelve week scan and I agree with her.

Oh dear looks like I'm having a bad day - sorry was up all night either shedding layers because it was too hot or weeing! :bored:
