i have just been feeding Maisy her tea when halfway through the jar i found something hard and black which i have to say looks very much like a dried up bloody SLUG!!!!!!!!!!
been trying to call heinz but there lines are closed till monday.
can anybody think of anyone else to call cuz i going crazy here and have to scream at somebody for this!!!!!

:puke: :puke: :puke: :puke: ewwww no... but get your baby seen by a GP so that you can prove things... also.. where did you buy the product from?? Take it back to the store and show them it... make a complaint there too..

it came from LIDL but cant see that will help...........
will try to post a pic

I know you want to vent your anger, but take it from a serial (successful) complainer. Spend some time writing a letter to the manager at Quality Control at Heinz. Make it clear what has happened, don't get emotional and add that you find this totally unacceptable. If you can, include the dried up piece of slug, the serial number of the jar (batch number - it's likely several jars will be affected) or if you don't want to include the slug (evidence?) take a photo and send that.

They have to take a letter much more seriously than a phone call. Over the phone they can fob you off.

Also, it is likely they will send you vouchers for Heinz products as compensation. If this is not what you want (i.e. you want a grovelling apology) then make it clear in your letter.

Always works for me :D

sorry its bit small, if you click on pic,you can see it full size

OMG thats awful and esp in baby food you dont know what germs etc that whatever it is has got in it. id be fuming if i found it in something i have brought let alone brought esp for my baby

i know but i have to bite my tongue now till monday.......even trading standards office is closed.
what if there is more out there and some poor baby chokes on it?

Ewwwwwwwwwww that's so rank :puke:

That is NOT on :shakehead:

Make sure you write to the BIG WIGS of the company then they will come down on the Quality Control staff like a tonne of bricks

I know what that is. I am certain it is the bottom end of the banana you know the horrid black bit no-one eats.

I would send that pic via e-mail to them now they always have someone there for e-mail correspondence

Poor you tho
Bex

suzy i would write a letter to the company heinz. send whats left in the jar plus the slug. they will want your custom and for u not to blab telling other mothers and expectant mothers not to buy it cause what u found in it. think your baby will be fine but get baby checked over just in case if u want , also include it in letter.i lied about 3times to haribo when i found a hair in a small packet of sweets. they sent me 6packets of the massive bags plus an apology letter cause they dont want me to spread it around about their product. they want you and they dont need i found a hair/slug in a product and for u telling people n ot to buy it. letter to haribo was i was eating a packet of these sweets from a multipack bought from woolies in certain location obviously i told them where :P im glad my 1yr didnt have this packet as she may of not seen it and it may of gone in her mouth and swollow it. i also added i have cravings for haribo sweets and am pregnant with my second child. now that was a big fat :fib:  but i had to do it for vouchers but i was shocked when they sent me 6packets of the big ones :) think every flavour lol dont take it to the shop they will just say ok and replace it with another 3 or something. take it to heinz they will send u vouchers as i dont think they will trust royal mail to deliver it as it may break but then again they might.no need to take a pic of it as u gonna send the remaining stuff back with the slug and the letter. always take it out with the actual company like heinz never the shop. the company will give u better deal as its them whos making it and want your custom. supermarkets/shops whatever are glad as custom but dont make the product and dont value your custom as much as the proper company like heinz :)

no dont warn em , send it to them with her address in letter . yea it does look like that brown black big on the banana. also looks like a worm or something i had one time in an apple from tescos.

Dont send it to Heniz send it to enviromental Health. If you send it back to Heniz they will more than likely send you vouchers and try and cover it up. Id sell it to the papers and let the right authorities know.
This could mean there is a fault on their packing line and could result in the jars having to be recalled. Let Heniz know by sending a picture and a letter.

I found a string of metal in a can of tuna once. I sent it back to the maker and they sent me back a letter saying that I must have put it there, but they gave me vouchers. I didnt use the vouchers and have never bought any of that makers products again.

I dont know how companies think they can get away with jus sending vouchers.

When I bought that brand new buggy and the wheel fell off when I was pushing elora for the first time in it, the company just said 'oh thats never happend before' Didnt even say bloody sorry :x I got a refund from the place I bought it, thats it. So if something heppens like that again im fgoing straight to the authorities. :shakehead:

will let you know how i get on on monday.
in the meantime, i have thrown all of my jars/tins of HEINZ in the bin.
if you have any, tip them into a bowl before you give them to your babies as you never know what could be lurking

ive got the boxes of food from 4months heinz and someone elses. got em shop as coop was selling em cheap. discontinued. btw i noticed in boots a few hrs ago had sma progress on product recall. id check the site if i was u girls :)
