Hi everyone

I was just wondering if anyone had heard of softcups? They are a menstrual cup used as an alternative to tampons but it can also be used as a fertility aid. All you do is slip one in after BD and it holds the :sperm: near the cervix and gives you a higher chance of getting pregnant.

I have just ordered mine from ebay, 6 pack for £8.50 so if i do get my AF this month, im gonna use these after BD to see if it helps.

Just wondering if anyone had actually tried these and had any success?

Hmmmm Ive heard of them but not for aiding conception! Oh well keep us posted and let us know how you get on with them...xx

Ive heard them but not as something to do with conception , Hope they work for you anyway :) Good luck :dust: xx

wow i didn't know they helped conceieve im scared of things like that , tampons and cups tho because of TSS :(

I sometimes read another site similar to this and they have achieved loads of :bfp: since January using these. There is a whole sticky thread dedicated to it.

Thats really interesting - I havent heard of them being used for that either - thanks for sharing! :)

hmm, they are called menstrual cups and they are made of silicone (or another material) I use one for my periods. I don't know about putting them in after intercourse (mine, which is a divacup says it should be used only for menses and nothing else). Since sperm has a very different consistency then the fluid in the vagina I don't know if this would cause any infections or so. I would be weary using this for something it is not intented to use for.

sorry I now see that these things are different so maybe they would work out (I don't see how you would use those for a period since they are so high up would make me feel uncomfortable to get them out. The regular menstrual cup I was talking about (like divacup and mooncup) hold the blood but are low in the vagina nowhere near the cervix).

cups don't cause tss, only tampons. this is because the cups only hold the blood and you empty them, regular tampons suck it up and make the ph level different in the vagina which could cause tss.

I have NEVER heard of them before! I shall have a loooook. x

The cups fit round the cervix and have been proven to help aid conception.

I ordered mine yesterday so should be here in time for AF (is she appears).

I will try them out and let you all know how i get on.

I had never heard of them before either but i think £8 is a small price to pay to help me get my :bfp: and if it doesnt work out then at least i tried.

Mooncups/softcups...all the same kind of thing. Have heard of them being used to aid conception as well - I'll see if I can find the article on it ...

I've also read from another forum that a lot of people have ordered their mooncups and then found out they were pregnant. Just happened to one of my friends which was hillllarious! :D

Hi Toffee

I didn't even realise these things existed until yesterday lol

If i don't get my :bfp: this month, which i doubt i will, im going to use them religiously after :bd: and see if that makes a difference.

It's sooo hard TTC this time round, had no trouble with DD, got my BFP a month of trying.

I'll keep you all posted.
