So I headed all the way to Paisley today for my scan to check all baby's organs and stuff. The good news is that everything is looking normal and healthy :)

However, I am so peed off! I had decided I didn't want to find out the sex of the baby, and spent quite a long time weighing up the pros and cons. Needn't have bothered! The stupid woman just blurted out that she thought it was a girl without even thinking to ask! Of course I'm happy to find out, but I wanted to wait...really upset about it! :\ x

Oh no :( So sorry to hear that.
She really should have asked first. They asked twice at my scan, once at the beginning and a second just before telling us. x

Oh and congratulations on your little princess. x

Congrats but we would have been annoyed too as we wanted to stay team yellow, as it happens nobody offered to tell us so we were quite content

Doesn't stop baby showing us their private parts though :)

Oh that's terrible! Can't believe she did that. I said the second I was in the room that we didn't want to know and she laughed and said she was about to ask anyway so surely it must be standard procedure to make sure...I've become a right whiner since pregnancy so it might just be me but I'd be tempted to complain or let someone there know what she did.
So glad all is healthy with LO though, it's a big relief to hear and see that. Congratulations on your likely pink bundle too! Did you get good pics too? x

That would be sooo annoying!! It wasn't mentioned at my scan if we wanted to know, she didn't ask and we never.xxx

Whaaaat? I can't beleive she didn't ask!!!! That's naughty - I would be livid! On a nicer note you know that all is well with your beautiful baby :) xxx

Wow - I'd be furious!!!

I have always wanted to stay team yellow and thankfully at my scan that asked before they even started

However what's done is done so I think you need to concentrate on the fact the baby is healthy and pink

I am sure in time you'll stop feeling so angry about it hun!!

Congratulations on a healthy, pink baby :D Did you get any piccies?

Sorry to hear she blurted it out without checking with you first - that's out of order!! I'm sure there is a protocol that they are meant to follow - if you are feeling up to it I would make a complaint!! Xxx

What a shame , I agree she really should have checked with you first though, at least your little girl is fine and healthy that is the main reason for the scan isn't it . xx

Yes, you are all right that the main thing is that baby is healthy and everything is looking normal. We have decided not to tell anyone else the sex, and will keep it to ourselves that we know at all to most people. I also think that I will look into making a complaint or at least mentioning it to the hospital, because I was genuinely upset and I don't want her to ruin the surprise for other people. Thanks for your support girls! It wasn't just a total overreaction from me! :P x

I'd definitely be putting a complaint in (in writing) to the hospital, that should never happen. Congrats on your healthy baby though :) xx

I think you need to make an official complaint! I'd be gutted had I been told as I really didn't want to know

My 20 week scan wasn't great (I seemed to have a trainee, but the didn't tell me? So I had two of them doing the actual scan and couldn't see hardly anything!! But bub was fine)

However on the upside they were on the ball about us not wanting to know the gender and for that I was very pleased!!

aww thats not so good, just remember though she could be wrong, if she is that stupid just blurting it out she might not really have a clue what sex your baby is!

Oh my goodness, that would have been a shock to the system!!!
I'd defaintely say something too, it's such an obvious thing to check first!

Well done on the healthy checks, I need to book my organ check, may book in for a 4D at the same time
x

That is naughty! There was a sign on the door as we went in to let the sonographer know if we wanted to find out the sex. I assume that they would have asked had I not have told them before I was even on the bed. It will be a nice secret for you and oh to keep though and glad baby is really healthy for you xx

Grr Id be furious! Id definatly say something and complain but thats just me lol congratulations on your healthy pink bundle!! x
