I am so cross and angry at my hospital, I am meant to have a fetal echo due to me having congenital heart disease and the hospital consider my pregnancy to be high risk to the point they won't let me see a community midwife just my consultant.

But they think it's ok to cancel my fetal echo 3 times without reason. All I want to know is that my baby girl is happy and healthy. I will be now 32 weeks when it's meant to happen and if things aren't ok it will mean a planned delivery and a team on standby for her. I just want the doctors to tell me she doesn't have anything wrong with her wee heart.

Im sorry your having to wait for such an important test! Contact the PALS (I think thats what it is called) service and make a complaint! Its really not on that you have been cancelled so many times! How about ringing the consultants secretary and see if they can pull any strings for you! Hope you get it sorted soon xx

Aw mrs this is a nightmare. I am so sorry you are having a hard time with getting the appointment. I'm sure it is constantly in the back of your head. Is there any way to get fast tracked? My sister always manages to ring up, cry, complain and cry some more and gets a quicker appointment for her kids appointments. Or you could try the formal complaint procedure, prob wont get you in any quicker though...

The girl that deals with the appt had gone for the day by the time the letter arrived. Good luck to her in the morning cause it's not fair now. I phoned his Secretary and she didn't want to know cause it's not her area .

I will be making a formal complaint as well cause they can't do this to people xx

Sorry to hear this Dolly! Would be a huge weight off your mind to get the scan and know your little girl is okay, how can they treat an expectant mummy like that and keep you under stress and upset! Definitely sounds like you need to start stamping your feet and threatening taking complaints further, don't give in, keep strong for your baby! Xx

Well I haven't been able to get through to the receptionist so I decided to make a formal complaint cause after looking at the date of the new appt I will be outside the 32 week limit for the scan xx

That is awful Dolly. As you know I had one of these too due to my congenital heart condition and it was done as a priority much earlier than 32 weeks. Definitely speak to PALs. But try not to worry in the meantime - I was told the chances of baby having a similar condition are very slim so am sure your little one is just fine.

Oh that's awful Dolly, what does it say happens next in the complaint procedure? Do they have so many hours to knowledge the complaint is now logged ?

Hi all well finally got through to the receptionist who really didn't care that I had been messed around and caused stressed over this. I told her I will be there at the next appt even if they cancel it and I will wait till I can be seen.

The complaints department haven't even called me back so I will be put it in writing now to the chief executive.

I see my consultants next wee and the next date for her echo is the 24th June. I am attending the royal Victoria xx

I always thought that was a good hospital, decent at the least. It's a real shame you've been treated so poorly. If it's the 24th, will you be over 32 weeks then?

My care hasn't been good like u are meant to have a 20 week appt then 25 and then 28 but instead I got 20 week scan, seen my consultant at 22 weeks then nothing till 28 weeks. I will be 32+3 when they do the echo it's not on. I received a letter from the complaints department and they said they will be in touch once they have done their investigation. Xx

God how crap have they been for you! Hopefully the complaints department do a proper investigation and you're given a good explanation and apology!

Aww Dolly you haven't been treated very well at all and you would think with your history that they would be monitoring you very closely. I'm with the Ulster and although it's always so busy when I'm there they have kept a close eye on me this time after my lb being so small last time. I was going to say was it an option for you to change but I see it's not. Grrrr!!! hopefully the complaints Dept come through for you and your care improves over this next wee while!!!!
