Ive been getting flourescent yellow snotty discharge when I wipe.

Called the midwife but shes not concerned as there are no other symptoms.

Is this what you call a mucus plug?

It sounds kinda like it. But if I'm thinking right you're not due for a little while?

If you're concerned call the hospital for a second opinion

Sounds like it is.... I was at a pre natal class in the hospital yesterday and they said mucus plug could be different for different people. She also said its not a big concern as it can mean labour is coming now/ tomorrow/ weeks away. But if you're worried, go in and get checked for piece of mind!

thankyou ladies, I did call the midwife but shes not so concerned as theres no blood in it and theres no backpain or craps.

She says it might be an infection but I dont think so.

From all the reading I have done, it does sound like mucus plug to me too.

mucus plug normally has blood in it. .... but parts of it can start coming away in the weeks up to the birth i guess

Sorry for the tmi Do you mean like the mucus that you get when you've got a cold?

Mucus plug tends to be like a thick jelly blob( or blobs) with blood in it or pink tinged it's also an off colour if that makes sense

even when my plu came away in bits over the course of 4days it still had blood/pink

Mine was like this in the weeks before labour, I cant remember exactly how long

^^this. I remember it last time. I got excited but it didn't mean anything at all in the end

Though when I went into labour.. the real 'plug' came out - it was gross, like a huge snotty bogey after a nosebleed. There was a fair bit of blood in it

32/33 is early to lose your plug, it’s normally after 37 weeks. It stops infection, hence why you don’t really want it coming out too early. I’ve had all sorts of discharge, of all colours and consistency! I doubt it’s your plug and I’m sure your midwife would have got you in if she thought it was.

I was told at a class that the mucus plug can renew itself too so could be that. Xx
