What snacks are you all planning on taking in with you? I'm planning on taking squash, cereal bars, crisps, maybe some chocolate. I would like some healthier stuff too but I'm not sure how well it will keep in a very warm hospital? Im veggie as well so conscious that hospital food is going to mainly consist of cheese salads etc. I'm being induced so planning on being in for a few days xx

In the hospital where I was induced they had a fridge hun I'm sure urs will to so u cud take somethin healthy n keep in there like yoghurt etc. Not sure what to take as I have gd but prob cereal bars n popcorn as I'm allowed that as a healthy snack.

We took cereal bars and nuts. I was induced but didn't end up eating any of it. Hubby was the one snaffling it all. Once my son was here, I got people to bring me fresh stuff in. x

When we had my lb my MIL made sandwiches and we brought a load of snacks! Hubby ended up eating he majority but it was nice that he has something to eat and didn't need to be going to the canteen! Even though they sent him to McDonald's at dinner time to get a break haha!! Xx

Could you take dried fruit like apricots, raisins etc. We had a little kitchen on the ward when I was induce. They had milk and cereal and a bowl of fruit but we could bring stuff in and use the fridge. Most of the time OH went to the food court and brought fresh stuff from M&S. I was in 5 days and it cost £200 with the parking, food, TV so I don't recommended solely relying on the canteen :oooo:

I took cereal bars/crisps last time and fizzy drinks. Will be doing same this time but TBH I didn't feel like eating anything so OH ate it all x

I've got some of th Cadbury brunch bars and mini cheddars in my bag at th mo as an emergency snack plus have a couple of still Lucozade sports drinks. Assuming it's nothing too dramatic and we have a bit of time I'd like to make a nice sandwich to take as well as I hear the food choices are pretty crap - maybe a couple of satsumas too as they will be quite refreshing and hydrating and also doesn't matter so much if it's a bit hot like some fruits x

Cerial bars, cartons of juice and Pop. Don't bother with chocolate - fruit wise just get partner to fly to shop or something - my hubby was coming and going a lot during the day getting things for me lol !

Drink is the main thing - God I was thirsty and hispital water is crap so I was making hubby go get me bottles of fridge cold flavoured water, lucazade etc

I took cartons of ribena, lots of grapes and I took a box of Ferraro Rocher in with me and they were a lifesaver when I fancied something nice xx

I froze bottles of water and took stuff in a cool bag; pasta salad, bananas, jelly babies, flat lucozade, chocolate raisins!

Take some of those tiny travel juice concentrate squash things! I have one in my bag in tropical flavour to help me make the hosp water into more attractive juice after my section as i never drink enougth, do you know the ones I mean?

Someone mentioned choc brunch bars, id watch the meltyness of those- maternity depts are stupid hot in winter, ive never done a summer baby before but think they would melt

I was thinking about getting one of the squash things the other day too Jen, good idea! x

Thanks ladies! I'm definitely taking squash, I drink loads of water but it can be a bit boring after a while! I checked and there is a fridge I can use so I'm taking some fruit, cereal bars, fruit juice, crisps and chocolate (just in case I need an energy boost obviously lol). I think I'll leave some of the non perishable stuff in the boot of the car otherwise I'll look like I'm moving in haha xx

£200 - wow that is a lot!! We have a maternity parking pass which costs £10 and covers me from dating scan to a week after due date, it's been a godsend and saved us a fortune as I've had loads of extra appointments. I didn't realise other hospitals didn't do them, they definitely should! Hadn't thought about the tv, I know it's extortionate though. We've got a Sainsburys, M&S food hall and an Aldi close by so lots of options xx

I took chocolate last time and honest to god, after labour, birth, photos etc, when hubby had gone home and baby was asleep I ate my bar of dairy milk before bed and it was the best thing EVER!!! Totally take a treat for after!!

I also took snack a jacks, grapes and cheddars, oh and juice. Also took a strae to drink through which was handy in labour xx

I bought sum juice thing today thanks to jj mum I think I'm going to do myself a box for at home after bubs is born with cake, Choc etc in it so I can finally indulge again lol.
