everyone seems to say one babies start smiling they dont stop but kayla will only smile a coupe of times during the day and mostly for oh rather than me

im just worried shes not happy and that she prefers oh to me :-( she went straight to him when she was born cos of all the messing it took 1.5 hours to put me back together n wasnt able to hold her the way they had me lying could she have bonded with him instead of me

I am sure she has bonded with you. I was the same, I didn't get to hold K until an hour after because it took so long to stitch me up  does your oh get to do more of the fun stuff with her? Maybe she just thinks he is funny to look at lol. Don't worry though, she is still really young!

Well Tyler would smile lovely until the day we had his BCG at a month old? 5 weeks. He smiled at the lady just as she put the jab in and he didn't again for a couple of weeks. Now he smiles all the time!! It'll come :)

Alyssa only smiles a couple of times a day hun and usually at new ppl. today it was OH's turn as he was complaining that she smiled at everyone but him. i usually get one maybe after a feed or playtime lol but its not a common thing. i know Alyssa loves me and i know Kayla loves you hun, they just dont really know how much you love their smiles :) in a few months they will know the reaction they get for smiling and do it loads, right now theyre just copying us and figuring out what a smile is and how to use it so dont read too much into them k?

ah thanks girls, it just seems like everyone says to me oh once they smile once they wont stop all day even keith was slaggin me in a messing way sayin how she smiles for him but it really got to me, i know he was only havng a laught but it made think it was me that was the problem

hopefuly in the next few weeks she will start to do it more often to me :) i gues she does only see him for fun time and is stuck with me all day long, and he does have a funny face lol

My sister said that it can be like that, you think they prefer dad at times but then she said when they are hurt or upset they will always want their MUM!!! I expect they get used to us quicker as they look at us so much more?

Harrison is a tart when it comes to smiling, he would smile at a wall and sometimes I feel that he smiles more at other people than me but I think that they save their special smiles for mummy!!

Lol, K's fave thing to smile at is the light fixture on our bedroom ceiling!

We had our first smile at six weeks but she didn't do many and never for me!

I also didn't see her for a day after she was born and I was worried she didn't know I was her mum etc...

But now at 8 weeks we are getting more smiles.....so don't worry, they will come.

I now believe she knows I am mum.... Cos she looks for me and stuff :) xx

What is it with light fixtures, he checks them out in every room we go in?!?! Think he is going to be a sparky when he is a big boy!!

hannah loves light fittings and curtains..lol xx

Speaking of light fixtures (I don't recommend this btw!) Tyler was really upset the other night so OH was trying to cheer him up so he lifted him above his head and hit Tyler's head on the lamp shade. There was a pause where OH and I looked at each other then Tyler started laughing!! Strange boy!
