Hi
I was just wondering if anyone had experienced a very slow labour? (over a few days)
What was it like and how did you feel?

Charlotte x

my mom was in labour with me for a couple of days.

she said it wasnt too bad. got uncomfortable (obviously)

then the pain increased gradually toward the end

I started having pains on the sunday night and Charlie was born on the Thursday at 4.50pm, the pains were ok sunday and monday although they were definate contractions, Tuesday was tough going and i went to hospital but got sent home as i was only about 1cm, went back in on the wed night and was only 3-4 cms. I wanted to cry at this point, i managed to go until 8am on thursday with the tens machine but needed gas and air at that point, waters were broken and put on drip at about 1pm and needed diamorphine at this point (dont ever want that again as was completely gaga and dont remember much after that) was fully dilated by 4pm and he was out by 4.50, i was totally knackered by the end, so much so i couldnt even face attempting to feed him myself, i would advise anyone to get as much rest in the early stages as poss, easy for me to say now as at the time i was so convinced giving birth was iminent that i didnt want to sleep but it really is so important.

My waters started to go early hours on the 29th October and I was in labour for 30 hours and she finally came out on 30th october. I had to be put on a drip to speed things up because the little monkey poo'd inside me! Before I went into hospital I was walking around and stuff and even had a shower because my waters were only trickling. I went back bed and when I woke up my waters gushed out so I had a shower then went into hospital. Even though it was 30 hours, it diddn't seem that long, every time i looked at the clock it was an hour later...but the baby was worth it :D

I was in labour for 38 hours with hope due to her being back to back, it was very tiring but the pain only got too intense in the last couple of hours, the rest of it wasnt too bad :)

i went into labour on the friday and had my little boy on sunday. i went to the hospital on saturday night but was just put on ward as i was only 1 cm. they gave me tens machine which was great so this time im going to hire one so i can stay at home longer

My sister has just had her first little boy & she was in labour for over 3 days but they induced her so the contractions were really slow & everything took a while to get going.
She said it was just a bit painful at first then irregular contractions

Hi hunnie...I was in slow labour with Ashlea for about a week I didn't find it painful, just slightly uncomfortable and niggly, eventually had a stretch and sweep...worked a treat...12 hours later the contractions came thick and fast...Ashlea was born 16 hours after stretch n sweep...fingers crossed it happens for you soon chick...xxx
