Is this something that just starts to happen on its own, or is there a way of 'encouraging' it? India is only 7 weeks old at the moment, but I am thinking about my return to work at the start of September. Thanks x

Hey,
I think its something that starts to happen on its own, every baby is different. Some start sleeping through early on. My little monster still has night feeds, but only one now. It used to be around one hundred lolxxxxxxx

Every baby is different, some don't sleep through for ages. I was lucky, zac slept through from about 11-7 from 7 weeks, and then 7-7 from 5 months. X

i truly believe its something that happens on its own, Donovan didnt have any night feeds from about 3 months but still woke up twice between 7pm-7am til about 5 months, he then went to waking once a night and all of a sudeen at about 5 and a half months he decided he would go to bed and 7pm and slept til 6am, he has in the last couple of weeks moved his bedtime forward an hour by himself and now does 6pm til 6am, but no matter what i tried to do to get him to sleep through nothing made a difference, its just something he came to do on his own x

Charley was waking every 3 hours until he was around 3 months then suddenly it jumped to 6-8 hours then 10 hours then finally he goes 12 hours without waking and did that from 6 and half months.
I think they sleep through when they want.
I tried my daughter with hungry baby to get her to sleep longer and it didn't do anything. She finally slept through at 6 months too x x

It takes a while for their tummies to be big enough to get them through the night. G started doing longer stretches at about 9 weeks.

deffo think each baby is diff! my lo is 8.5 months and has only just started sleeping thru the night, we've had 5 nights where he has slept 12 hours and its been heaven! he was waking up to 2 times in the night and draining 8oz bottles, if hes hungry i wasnt gunna let him scream! im sure your lo will get there in her own time! shes still so tiny and has a small belly so will prob need feeding alot more at this stage! i deffo think now we have weaning well established has helped marley sleep though, i also changed his milk to Hipp organic goodnight milk which has worked wonders!
