Connie slept through the night 8pm-7am (with the exception of a quick 60ml bottle at 11pm that I woke her up for) for the first time last night  . I changed her at 11pm but obviously by 7am when I woke her up (I flushed the loo :wall: ) her nappy was saturated. Should I be waking her to change her half way through the night or is it OK to leave her as I don't want her bum geting sore?

What kind of nappies do you use?

I used to use huggies but found that the bed and Baillie's PJ's were soaking after a full 12 hours. I switched to pampers which are much better!

I always let her go right through without changing and shes been fine.

If Galen was sleeping I didn't disturb him. He's never had a sore bottom from wet nappies and believe me he has some wet ones  Most disposables are designed to cope with overnight use. If you changed her at 11pm and then again around 7am I'd say that was ok. Often I find as they get a bit older they can go a fair few hours at night and not wee, so nappy might only really get wet around 3 or 4 am. Up till then it may be pretty dry anyways. I used to find this happened with Galen from around 10-12 weeks of age. He also stopped pooing overnight then too. He can wake in the night and have a bone dry nappy that a few hours later when he wakes at 6 or 7am will be heavy and wet.

I would be reluctant to change her if she would wake. When you say saturated, are talking right though the vest? Im also a fan of the pampers baby dry for nights. I used to use active fit and good as they are the baby dry keeps dryer for longer.
Slap on the sudocrem, its a barrier cream and should protect her wee bum.
Thats a good stretch she is sleeping for though, good on her.

Sainsburys own No.3 size. They are for 9-20lb babies, Connie is 12lb she still fits in No.2s well but I reasoned that No.3s would hold more liquid  . There have never been any wet patches so nappy is holding it all in. She lets us know if she's had a poo  .

No leaks but I think it was at full capacity  . Wouldn't want to leave it much longer to change her.

I have never woken Calleigh to change her and she has never had a sore bum. Like Sherlock says you may find that she doesnt wee until nearer the morning, i know this is true for Calleigh as if she wakes at 2am i check her bum and its still dry.
I use Tescos nappies and have never had a problem with them.

The only time I change Finlay in the night is if he's got a dirty nappy but that rarely happens.

I use the Nature babycare nappies and they are fab!

I'd not wake her to change her halfway through as it could disrupt her sleep pattern and if her bottoms fine then there's no need, she'd wake up herself if she was uncomfortable too, its a great sleep she did :D Obviously if you smell poo then that's different. Very best wishes

we use pampers babydry and aiden goes from 6/7pm till 7:30am. like sherlock said, sometimes they don't tend to pee much during the night, and he never poos then either. in the morning when i change him it's always quite wet but never soaked or leaked through.

you know you said you got a bigger size bc you thought it would hold more? i imagined doing that would let it leak through the side easier? just a thought..

aidens never had a sore bum either and we never change him through the night, i would be tempted to leave her with the nappy till the morning :) no point in disturbing her, she's obv comfortable enough :) xxx

Be careful using a barrier cream as it can rub off onto the nappy and stop it absorbing as much wee, I used to put Sudocrem on, but found that her bottom was then wet in the morning as the wee wasn't soaking in. We use Pamper's babydry and Ella is in them for 12 -13 hours and is fine. I agree with Sherlock, we often used to find that when we changed Ella after the 11ish feed her nappy was still bone dry.
