Ok, I was size 16 pre pregnancy

I rarely feel bubba kicking, and OH still cant feel anything outside...

I have a doppler and know all is well, and measuring fine for dates but it worries me when I dont feel bubba a lot as I have two friends in work who are both tiny (size 8-10 pre pregnancy) and their bumps move round while you watch!!! I am so jealous!!

Has anyone else size 16 or over experienced this?

Is it my extra padding on my belly stopping me feeling bubba as much as my slimmer pals????

Hope you get an answer babe, im sure thats what it is xxx

i was a size 16 to and i could always feel madi moving on the outside and so could my other half

have you tried lying down and putting something on your belly i.e remote control?

used to always work for me lol

love you loads

I was a size 20 when I got pregnant.... I felt kicks from about 18 weeks but very faintly.. hubby didn't feel them until I was past 29 weeks..

He got very frustrated especially when I kept saying did you feel that??? and he said NO! However one night he was sitting with his hand on my stomach and I said did you feel that? He replied what that little jumpy move? I said yes and he said why was that the baby?? No its the alien that I have in my stomach!!!! Turns out he had been feeling something all along ( from about 27 weeks but thought the movements would be a lot stronger so dismissed them! MEN!!!!

Now though baby moves about loads and you can see my stomach moving and huby loves it. I have had a few problems using the angel sounds heart monitor thing and I think that is due to the "extra padding!" you can hear things but it doesn't sound like it does at the midwifes!

Don't worry about it, hubby will be able to feel things eventually!

hope this help though probably not the answer you wanted!

I can feel the baby moving but he normally moves morning and night and half way through the afternoon. He seems to be in a pattern. They're just gentle kicks though - nothing hard. OH can feel him when I press his hand on the spot that's moving and sometimes I can see my belly move when he's moving but it's just a teeny jump, not a drastic movement - I've seen some of my friends where you can literally see limbs prodding out!
Zoe, don't worry. Everyone's different and it may be that your little one is in a different position and is just more chilled out.

Ooh yes Hev, lying down seems to work a treat. Also Zoe you could try the old cold orange juice trick.

oh cold! still don'e know what it is though!

I'm a size 14... been feeling kicks just after 19 weeks..

o/h could feel them from about 23 weeks...

i/we could watch my belly move as well...

I'm not sure wat it is...

i dont think its so much to do with size

((without sounding cruel... i think its to do with the amount of fat/skin around the middle area..))

hope he feels it soon hun

I have done this but with a pint of cold water, all you do is down the pint of cold water and it get bubba moving usually :D

I can see baby moving around every where already. I'll be in the bath and my belly will move from one side to the other. I was a size 18 pre pregnancy. Maybe its the way the babies lying.

Thanks girls, have tried cold drinks and balancing things on there....nuthin!!! He/she kicks when it wants too

I am suffering a lot with my back, and my midwife appointment last week, babys head was down, and i could feel bum to top of my bump so there is every chance the kicks are going inwards towards my back??

Its so hard not to worry, if its not one thing.....

Thanks for replies my dollfaces

I was in size 16 pre preg zoe, and OH felt baby kick ata bout 23 weeks, a swim in the swimming pool on holiday helped, I hardly felt anything before 22/23 weeks, after i came out of the pool she was moving non stop and OH got to feel her after a while, try a swim :D

Totally agree Zoe. My worries seemed to go away for a short while after my 12 week scan but now they're back with a vengeance. Keep hoping he's ok in there and that he'll come out at the right time and be healthy. I'm actually getting quite neurotic now!

Hi Zoe it is probably the way baby is lying. I had loads of movements quite early on and then suddenly it all changed and I could only feel movements low down like those first little kicks. She then moved again and I'd get some belters. I always found cold pepsi and a prod would normally get me a big kick eventually which I interpreted to mean "EFF off Mum, I'm trying to get some rest!" :rotfl:

 Zoe.

Id suggest if your still concerned babe then give your midwife a bell. Im sure she will reassure and tell you the reason for it in a flash! :)
