So my LO is 5 months old and we started weaning about a month ago once a day.

I now want to introduce a Sippy cup of water during the day. He has been formula fed with Dr Brown bottles from the day he was born.

I brought him a little tommee tippee Sippy cup but he just chews on the spout

How can I encourage him to drink? He will happily take water out of his bottle.

Just keep offering the sippy cup, it took ds a while to figure out what it was.

Just keep offering it - no bottle or too much drink around 'meal' times. My son was on Dr Browns from 8 weeks and he didn't get on with those 4+ sippy cups as the spout was hard. I moved him onto a soft spout +6 month one and he got better :)

My LO never got on with sippy cups so I bought one with a soft straw type thing and she loved it!

Thank you ladies! We will keep practicing and see how we get on.

Mummybexee- I think we may need to invest in one with a soft spout or a straw for the same reason but we will see how we go.

Nuby do the ones with the straws I've seen them in home bargains for £3.99 or something like that. I know they were reasonably priced.

There's one IKEA sells that is suitable for 0+: the lid has a drinking tip with holes and it just dribbles a little once you tip it so the baby doesn't need to do much to get the water out, just like with a normal cup. But I agree with keep offering it, sometimes it takes a while for them to figure out a new drinking system.

Which tt beaker? My lb struggles with anything at first apart from the tt first beaker. They're free flow, easy to hold & you can push the spout down to stop it spilling in your bag

My TT cup is similar to that but it also came with a teat cost about £2.50
