Poppy is 8 months old today. I was flicking through my Birth - Five NHS book today and it says it's a good idea to introduce a cup rather than a bottle from 6 months, which we have; she's been drinking her water from a sippy cup for about 2 months now, and at dinner time I give it to her in a doidy cup (which she is really good at, bless her!). But should we start giving her formula in a sippy cup too, and stop with the bottles altogether?

I should probably add that she's taking two to three 7oz bottles a day now.

Please don't shoot me for saying this but i would leave it how it is. A lot of children associate milk with the bottle and water/juice with the beaker, so won't take milk from a beaker. Eventually the milk feeds will stop anyway so you'll have no need for bottles then.

It's entirely upto you hun, do what you feel is right.
My son is 16 months old and he still has he's milk in a bottle, he associates a bottle with milk time and a cup with juice time unless he is tired then I give him juice in a bottle too.

It took my son ages tO find a cup/ beaker he liked! I think i went heough at least 10 till i got one!He had juice in that unless it's bedtime or nap then he has a certain bottle. He won't drink milk from anything other than his bottle and he's now 18mths!

Maisie still has bottles even though she probably couldn't care less where her drinks come from. Your lo will tell you when they're ready guidelines are only that you will know when to make the switch x

Jack has drunk his water from a beaker from 10 weeks old!! He refused point blank to drink it from a bottle so I tried him with a Nuby beaker and he loved it! He'll now drink from any beaker and has 3 different types. He still has bottles for his milk and will probably do so until 18mths when i'll try offering him a beaker instead, if he doesn't like it i'll give back to bottle until he can drink compinently from a proper cup. You do what you feel is right for your LO though x
