Well what happens to your tummy?

Does it go down? When your waters break does it shrink a bit then the baby comes out and then the placenta if you watch your tummy does it start to flatten like a balloon going down?

not exactly. I didn't watch it really but after it was still rather swollen - i still looked a little pregnant and it was really wobbly then it gradually shrank over the next few days - weeks.

When my waters broke i didnt notice too much change, i think it just felt as though there wasnt as much pressure iykwim.
As for when baby and placenta came out i have no idea what that looked like, was too busy pushing baby out to notice
Didnt look at my belly till i was sat in the bath afterwards and i was pleasantly suprised to be honest. It wasnt a big old saggy belly, yes it was soft and squidgy but didnt look as though it just previously an hour before had a baby inside :)

I did not notice my tummy going down when my waters broke (I was as high as a kite!) BUT literally straight after I had my little girl my tummy shrank to a wobbly jelly-like state and did not feel like it belonged to me!!! It was weird - I felt really skinny!!! I also missed my bump (even though I moaned about the size of it for weeks leading up to the birth). I kept going to rub it and it wasn't there!!

Every day I noticed a slight difference for a couple of weeks! Then it went back to normal (I have a fairly flat tummy normally).

Now, at 29 weeks with my second baby, it is back again!!!

I didn't notice any difference after my waters went - but then I had other things to worry about :rotfl:

Afterwards I still had a belly (looked like five months pregnant) but the tummy went down. I was quite surprised how painful the contractions were when breastfeeding LO - but I knew that this helped to shrink my tummy!

Tummy was back to normal in weeks.

I didn't notice any difference after my waters broke. And after giving birth I was very surprised to see a big jelly-like tummy  I was naively thinking that it would shrink back to a decent size immediately after having the baby :?
One of the first questions I asked the midwife who visited me in my bedroom a few hours after Louis was born was: "When will I stop looking pregnant?" I have to admit that I was a bit traumatized to have to wear maternity trousers after giving birth!

My waters didn't break til 30mins before baby was born so was in no state to notice. Then when baby and placenta was born i didn't pay attention either as i was too busy cooing over my baby! I didn't even notice while in the shower as i was in a bit of a trance. I don't think i could believe what happened! But it did happen so damn fast!
When i got up to my room an the ward it was just flat but jelly like. It was strange but i fit into my normal trousers. I was fascinated for days! Lol.
And like someone else said, the breastfeeding contractions were painful but worth it! I've put weight back on now since the depo so i have a big wobbly belly again! Lol

i was still huge after giving birth about 7 months pg but then i put on over 7stone so that why, it was really wobbly but starting going down over the next few days now i only look 4 months pregnant
xx

Yes my tummy did strink alittle (it was noticeable) after my waters broke, but it will still take further time after the birth for it to go back to shape. Some people are luckly and may go back to normal within two weeks or so and others can take months :(
Just look at it as its taken 9 months to get to the size that it did, and the body has to work at it again to get it back as it should be. However in my case i have found that i eat more chocolate now (1 large bar a day!) since Calums born than i did before.

Mine went down a fair bit after he was born but I did still look pregnant for about a week or so. It's such a weird feeling though, you keep expecting to feel movements and go to stroke your bump only to find a wobbly jelly belly! It really is like jelly too, it wobbles when you laugh!

I was still in maternity trousers for about 6 weeks after he was born, then I bought some in a bigger size because I couldn't bear to wear maternity any more. I was back to size 12 by the time he was 5 months though and went down a further dress size before I got pregnant again.

I remember prodding mine straight away and going "urgh, it's like jelly" lol

I had a c-section so slightly different but I remember looking down afterwards and wondering where my belly had gone! There was still quite a belly there but it was so soft so it flopped down rather than being the big hard rock you get during pregnancy. It's been going down gradually every day since and is now nearly back to normal but much less toned.

I hope mine doesnt look like a sunken chocolate sponge :(

:rotfl: that tickled me, you have a way with words!

Mine went down when babies wer born but not flat! Like a big blob of jelly!!

When Aimee came out I felt a release of pressure from my lungs. I still looked pregnant 5 days after giving birth, which the MW told me was normal. I am actually 2 sizes smaller now than I was before I was pregnant. :cheer:

When my waters went, my bump shrunk LOADS! I looked 6 months pregnant again it was that different! (My waters did come out by the bucket loads, no trickles for me!)

Now it is pretty much similar to before pregnancy, but my arse is bigger and my belly looks 'different' eg not as toned and a bit squidgy but Im not fussed right now, my boobs look great!! :D

my waters were a mystery we dont kno when they went lol but they do make a difference- i remember sunsinestars posting before and after pics on here of her bump when her waters went, the after pic was tiny!

i remember laughing with a girl friend over this birth magazine article she'd read by this woman who had been excited when she saw how flat her tummy was after she gave birth- until she touched it and it "felt like soggy cream-puffs"!

but its TRUE! loool my tummy was quite flat again but had the tone of toothpaste :puke:

I didnt notice whilst in labour, but it feels like playdough or something now.

my belly was flat straight after giving birth to all 3 of my children although its like a big bowl of jelly, all wobbly and wobbles when i laugh/sneeze/jump/cough/run etc :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

it toned up after my first baby but my 2nd baby left it a bit wobbly and my 3rd has just left it a big squidgy wobbly mess tbh  :wall:

ah well never mind...my 3 wonderful children are most definitely worth it :)
