I've had a scan today as when I went to see my midwife last week I was measuring large for my dates.
My blood pressure is really high and there's quite a lot of fluid surrounding the baby. My consultant has told me the baby is fine and I saw and felt him jumping around during the scan.
My consultant has told me to rest and has signed me off for 4 weeks! Got to have my blood pressure checked on Friday, got a glucose test on Monday, and another scan in 2 weeks.
Just hope this period of resting does the trick and my BP goes down. By the time I go back to work I'll only have 4 weeks left at work before I finish for my maternity leave.

Hopefully your BP comes down! enjoy your rest :)

Take it easy and enjoy the rest hun! Hope your BP sorts itself out x

Awww enjoy the rest and make sure you do actually rest!!! I've been signed off too due to my low placenta and bleeding....am signed off till my maternity leave now! It's weird suddenly having so much time on your hands, but I must say I have got quite used to it now!! Am glad baby is fine anyway, just take it easy to get that BP down.....did they say how much bigger than your dates you are?? xx

Am 4 weeks bigger than my dates so measuring today at 29 weeks. What do you do to keep yourself occupied Amanda? I don't think they've put me on total bed rest so am I ok to potter around the house and do housework if I get OH to do the manual stuff like hoovering? Am bored already and it's only been 2 hours! Suppose I can start buying things and get organised for baby coming. OH won't know whats hit him with all the jobs he'll have to do for me now.

do u like craft thing.... why not start a scrap book for baby... was looking at the other thread on it and FINALLY started mine for my 5 year old and its amazing how u get carried away with it lol iv no proper time to do it with work and stuff but getting there and if u free time ud maybe enjoy it :) x

Well I spend alot of time on here, ha ha!!! I have been told to take it easy too, but like you think it's ok to do light housework and just avoid anything too strenuous. I have plans to completely clean and clear out my flat but haven't actually acted on them yet...am not sleeping too well at nights so am knackered in the daytime. I have also managed to get nearly all my baby stuff sorted...it's now sat here ready for me to wash and iron it all which I am strangely looking forward to doing!

I think you should get your baby stuff sorted while you can because if you are measuring that big you never know they may want to deliver early....also the same with the high BP....so best get organised while you can hun.

I have also gone out for lunch with friends which is nice...it's good to get out of the house! But do remember that you are signed off for a reason so don't spend all day cleaning and hoovering....make sure you put your feet up! I think it's weird at first but you soon get used to it....but then I'm not one of those people who always has to be on the go anyway, I'm quite good at vegging out in front of the TV!! xxx

It hasn't sunk in yet that I'm not at work for 4 weeks now. Once the shock has worn off I'm sure I'll get used to being lady muck. Luckily OH works from home so he can make sure I'm not over doing things and help me with hoovering etc.
Definitely think we'll start to get things ready now I've got all this extra time on my hands.
I don't have to be on the go all the time either so will be catching up on my daytime tv.
I haven't been able to get hold of my boss either yet as he's in a conference for the next 2 days so have had to text him. Will be stressing about that until I know he's got the message.
I feel like a fraud as I feel absolutley fine, just tired! I know it's best for me and baby to be at home.

I am the same - feel like a fraud because I am not sick at all! Even when I was in hospital for 16 days I was probably the most well person there yet I was there the longest! That was strange! Yesterday I was thinking about going into work to visit everyone, then I thought maybe management wouldn't like that because I am signed off sick and meant to be resting, so I've decided against it. That's nice that your OH is at home...you can annoy him!! My hubby works in London and I only see him at weekends so I do find myself feeling lonely in the week :-( xxx

Aw sorry to hear you're on you're own during the week. Normally OH is home everyday during the week, but today he had a meeting he had to go to. He feels awful he wasn't with me today, I told him it was typical this would happen on the one day he couldn't come to the hospital with me.
We'll just have to keep each other company on here!

Roo 3 - glad that you are taking the time off to chill and look after your little one. It might be hard not to be at work, though remember your body is working 24/7!!! Take it easy and hopefully your blood pressure will come down :hugs:

Have quite enjoyed chilling out today, although I did pop to Morrisons this morning, I figured a 20 minute stroll whilst doing the shopping wouldn't do any harm. After lunch I had a nap for a couple of hours then watched a film.
Am at the doctors tomorrow morning for a blood pressure check, then back to my sofa and chill out!

Have finally managed to speak with my boss last night- he was great and said the main thing is that the baby and me are ok. And I'm not to go back in with a tan!
