I am around 12 weeks now. I have a midwife appointment tomorrow and my first scan on Thursday. My sickness is horrific. Its got worse as the weeks have gone on and I'm really feeling like I can't cope with it anymore. It's seriously getting me down and in getting anxious about it because I just don't know when/if it's ever going to end. Does anyone have any tips on how to curb it? I feel like I've tried so many different things (I hate ginger though!) and nothing is working.

My friend had this, you can get the doctor to prescribe anti-sickness tablets.

Yes I think cyclazine is the best anti emetic for pregnant women? Hope you feel better soon xx

I would suggest going to the doctors for some anti-sickness tablets. I had hyperemesis and I thought it would never end. I still felt sick ok the tabs but it reduced the amount of times I was sick. I tried cyclizine but made me worse. It does work for a lot of people though. Avomine worked best for me in the end. Mine got better around week 22 xx

I always thought that they had to be prescribed early to have an effect. I'm not sure I would get them, although I am throwing up I wouldn't say it's often and not daily... I just feel on the verge of throwing up constantly!

I have hyperemesis and been ill since 6+half weeks and I'm now 21+half weeks. Still throwing up every day but it has reduced from 20 times per day to about 4/5 times per day and the nausea has eased. Been on meds from about 8 weeks and had hospital admissions and been off work 15 weeks. It eased after 18 weeks but it can last whole pregnancy. Definitely go to doctor for meds. I am on cyclizine and ondansetron.

Find a doctor who will take you seriously (easier said than done) I have seen 6 different ones until I finally got one who understands I have hyperemesis and not just good old morning sickness. The other doctors kept playing it down saying it was normal to be sick, refused to sign me off work, refused any medication, I literally couldn't keep a sip of water down, had lost two stone since my 8 week booking in weight and ended up in hospital needing 9 litres of fluid with ketones of 4++++. None of the doctors had bothered to check anything aside from blood pressure, when I went to a+e last week the doctor admitted me straight away and was started on cyclizine which didn't work on its own but alongside ondansetron has reduced the violent cycle of sickness and I'm now able to eat and only be sick a few times which isn't ideal but is 10x better than it was.
