hiya a halti is the way forward he will prob totally object to it at 1st but will become use to it, be careful when letting a husky off the lead too only do it in a safe enclosed area because even though they return now they will chase small things and they will run and run and run and wont care that you are yelling after them to come back and then they can easily get lost a long leash is the best to give him a bit of freedom..also you need to become the pack leader xx

Amy please only hand money over once you have recieved him as there are alot of scams going around if it sound too good to be true it possibly is the average husky price is £700+

also please research the breed as much as you can the more you know about the breed the healthier you both will be lol

logan cost me £250 with pedigree papers altho i got him wen he was 4 months x

Hiya Lily ,

He is a beaut and i am well into my dogs , so i'm goin to tread carefull now and try to not offend you in things that might sound a litle offensive , they arnet intended to be though honestly .

I see he is only 9 months old and you say great with the ex , and that would be because he see's the ex as master, now the ex has gone you need to become pack leader, it will benefit in all areas not just on the lead , a dog that leads you and walks in front of you is't respecting you.

So it starts in the home ie dog only eating after you, so you pretend to eat first, remove his food half way through , then ask him to sit and give it back. Not let the dog on your seats , upstairs etc , i know its hard , my last dog was a big boy and he just wouldnt get off the sofas after we let him as a pup so we had to gate off the living room and he pulled like a bitch lol but my OH let him and i didnt so we were inconsistent too.

The dog walker is a good idea , its WAYYYY too hard with a pulling dog and a pushchair x xx

We have 2 Springer spaniels and they are pullers, we have got halti's for them and they walk so much better our boy is very strong and without one I couldnt take him out as hes pulled me over a few times. We have tried everything to get them to walk to heel but not much luck unfortunately however they are excellent off lead. Like other ladies have said they hate them at first but soon get used to them ours even still have days where they try to get them off but they will get used to them. X

Girls we got him last night and my god i cant believe what a beautiful dog he is. Al said the lad that gave him to us sobbed as he took him hes at college and just didnt have the time for him. hes chipped and has had all his needles we have his vet papers. he slept in bed with me last night like a little baby. hes house trained sits stays shakes hands and is amazing on his lead. we had him at a truck show today the noise and crowds never bothered him even other dogs we not a problem. He is not giddy so my little girl can lie and cuddle him. only thing is he doesnt like to be left alone but thats not a problem because im home all the time and hes going to come in the car with me on the school runs. can you tell im excited lol

awwh! what a gem of a pup!! XXX

Bam is huge for 14 weeks i cant imagine what size he will grow to be haha. hows Lexi for you taffy is she good on and off her lead? Bam is being brill we take him to the fields and leave him off but he comes back when called. he was brill walking with the buggy today he doesnt pull thank god.

Firstly, Siberian Huskies were bred to pull.. not created by God with an instant pulling reflex
Nearly all dogs pull at some point too, it's all about training.
Siberian Huskies are big strong dogs too, so they're bigger pullers!

Anyway..
I'd recommend what the other girls have suggested, the harness is good but the nose harness one is much better as it gives you better control of them. They don't care if you have control of their body, it's when you have control of their head when they realise who's boss and that pulling is bad

My sister in law has a Siberian Husky and she is absolutely huge! She's honestly like a bear. xxx

I dont need to get Bam one of those haltis (sorry about my spelling) he is excellent on and off the lead. He has already started obedience training which me and Al are quite keen to keep up he will sit stay and most importantly to me he comes back when called so he can run the fields freely. He loves to be walked i have been taking him 3-4 times a day. I did alot of research into huskies before i got one i wanted to be sure one would be right for my family. I have to say he is perfect and its almost like i have gained a child haha. It is lovely to see how gentle he is with rose she was lying on his chest watching tv today. He is going to be massive but he will be well trained and loved and we have plenty space for him so i cant see us having any problems.

Hey hun, yeah Lexi is very good off lead and comes back when called. She usually pulls at the beginning of the walk on lead due to excitement, but calms right down after a while. We also have a 4 year old Lab so she mainly follows him. She walked the last part of our walk this evening to heel off lead so we're encouraging that. A couple stopped and stared at us the other day as they couldn't believe Lexi was off lead. She also absolutely loves kids and is so gentle with them. Both ours are real characters but Lexi in particular. She found a dead squirrel on our walk the other week and proudly carried it on the whole of the walk - lovely :) xxx

She sounds beautiful. I cant believe what clever soft dogs they are.
