I have been having headaches, getting the odd spells of dizziness and seeing stars, and getting a really hot neck and head with rosy cheeks (even when it's freezing in the flat as i haven't got the heating on) on and off for the last few days. Also, i have noticed that babys movements have decreased quite a bit. I haven't felt him move at all today, although i did a couple of times during the night.
I've got an appointment with my GP, at 4.20pm, today (for severe constipation) but i pretty much find the GP useless and am not sure if i need to call a MW about these issues or if GP's can deal with them properly.
Has anyone got any idea what my symptoms could mean or have u had them yourself?
Thanks girls xxx

No harm in ringing your MW hun, perhaps get GP to check your blood pressure while you are there xx

Yeah I say give your midwife a call about it. I mean your doc might be completely different but I've tried talking to my doc about movement before and he's told me I need to speak to midwife about it. But yours might be different and know more about it xx

Thanks nikki.
If you have a problem with blood pressure does it affect baby, could that be why he's gone a bit quiet? I've never had any probs with my blood pressure before and don't know too much about it really! xx

Yeah high blood pressure can affect movement etc so its best to get it checked out. Especially if you are seeing stars too. It will probably be nothing but no harm in having it checked xx

Id call ur midwife hun and see what she says. Sounds like it could be ur bp to me hun. My mw told me before that if Im unwell, baby will sense it and movements can decrease as they become unhappy. So it could be that. I know what you mean about ur GP, mine can be useless as well so I always ask my mw instead :)

Thanks Rach. I just don't want to bother MW when i'm seeing GP later but i know what you mean about them not knowing much about movement. Suppose i could call her after i've spoken to GP if i'm not satisfied with what he says. xx

Thanks for all your advice girls. I might call her in a bit then and get her opinion before seeing the GP, maybe she can advise me what to ask the GP to do or something. xxx

Let us know how you get on xxx

I agree that it sounds like your BP hun......I think you're right to call MW first, see what she says and then u can have a more focused appointment with your GP! Hope u feel better soon xx

I think you are wise to call her. Yes, GP may be able to help however mw is more specialised so will know more than gp. Always best to ask, there is never a silly question - when I was in hosp I was saying to the mw's about asking questions, they said to always double check x

I agree u should call ur mw first and see what she says, she may want you to go get monitored for a while.. let us know how u get on hun best of luck x

I would def call your mw hun! Seeing stars can be a sympton of pre-eclampsia or of OC! Better get it checked out xx

Called midwife, went straight to answer phone so left a message. If she doesn't call me back within the hour i might call a different midwife. xx

Defo do hun dont leave it.. have you felt movements yet?

I have actually, in the last 5mins, felt slight movements but he's definitely not been himself for a few days. Was thinking he was just havin a growth spurt or something but just concerned as not been feeling gr8 myself.

Dee, if you are seeing stars you need to go in! not to worry u but they take i seriously as it had blind spots in my eyes a few weeks back and they insisted i went straight in, as jomc says its a sign of pre-eclampsia. my mw told us in antental class, any stars, blurs or obstructions to your vision are taken very seriously. Hopefully you will be fine, i was, sometimes it can be somethign completley unrelated xxx

MW still hasn't called back so i called the community MW centre. They agree that my sypmtoms sound like blood pressure and said that as i'm seeing the GP later to get him to check it and dip my urine.
Thanks for all of your advice. I will let you know how it goes with the GP. xxx
