Well I gave her scrambled egg fo the first and the Last time

As soon as she ate abit she had a nasty rash all over her face, I took the rest off her emediately and gave her a drink to make sure her throat hadnt swollen.

It stayed like it for an hour or so, I rang nhs but they seem to think she will be fine and so do I, shes her normal happy self and im glad I reacted quickly, oterwise it could of got nasty :?

Ive been told to keep her off eggs until she over 1 and try again, but got to see doc and get some puritin?

Well her rash is gone now, lol babies are so scary sometimes!!

Apperently its quite common so no worries :D

I never knew babies could be allergic to eggs

I haven't tried Keeley on eggs yet

Glad she's ok and well done for you reacting soo quickly

Yer apprently its really common, tho I didnt know that until she reacted

Thank you hun

The first signs are rash's around the mouth litrely within second of it passing the lips

The thing is, she is fine with things that have egg in but as soon as proper egg touched her lips she had a nasty reaction, I am so glad I took it off her :)

 Thanks again hun

My friends little girl was until recently. Apparently they can grow out of it! She was tested regularly and about a month ago (3 years old) she was given the all clear. It was a mare for my friend as you don't realise how many things actually have egg in them!

Thaks girls

Yes this is why I was shocked, shes fine with suff that has eggs in but when she had real egg, it reacted.

Ill just have to try her when shes older :D

did she react to her jabs at all tasha, don't they contain traces of egg protein? something to bear in mind for the future.

No she didnt, but tha was ages ago.

The doc said she cant have the mmr jab when shes one and will have to have pin prick tests to see if shes allergic to the protein, she will be given something else.

Thanks again all

My son is allergic to egg, although it only seems to be to raw (if we're making batter) or egg on its own ie scrambled, boiled etc. By that i mean he eats cooked batter and other things have some egg in them. He's now 6 and the allergy seems to have lessened with time although he still reacts. You do have to be careful though as a lot of vaccines are based in egg protein. You can have the mmr jab under controlled circumstances (ie in hospital) although they won't normally give it in hospital unless theres history of anaphalatic shock. We waited until he was 4 and a half as his body was a little more able to deal with it and dosed him up with antihistamines, the surgery did the jab out of surgery hours so that the doctors weren't busy if needed and they had adrenaline on standby. After all that he was absolutely fine!!!
