She hardley sleeps!!!

Sinse her growth spurt a couple of weeks ago, Olivia wakes every hour to feed and wont settle until around 11/12 pm, she seems to be very unsettled and hungry.


I get her in the cot eventualy around 11 and then she wakes up an hour later and feeds, the continues this tru out the night.

I thought it may have something to do with teething but its not, shes hungry.....
She has two teaspoons or more of baby rice in the morning and has done for a couple of weeks, which settles her in the day, and has a good few naps, but night time all that goes out the window.

I dont know what to do I need some sleep

I wish I could help hun but Brody didn't sleep through till he was 9 months!

There are LOADS of tips in the "No Sleep Club" thread though, there were a few of us trying EVERYTHING to make our babies sleep more haha.

Sorry hun i dont have any advie Sophie never slept through till after a yr, and Alastair isnt doing much better.

I just get through by telling myself it will not last forever, think im going to look in the NO SLEEP CLUB for some tips

apart from the baby rice does olivia take any more solids throughout day? do you think a couple of tea spoons of baby rice half an hour before her last boobie feed could settle her through the night?

I agree with Alfies mummy, give her some rice at tea time and that should fill her tum for a bit longer. I found my LO was suddenly taking loads of milk at about the same age as Olivia and I started to wean her then and I have never looked back- she started sleeping through within a week which was great! Good luck!

well I gave her a few more tea spoons before her evening feed and she still didnt go down until 11 and woke up at 1 hungry again.

lol ill just keep at it like that for a week and see what happens

Shes definatly hungry, she even took the spoon off me and tried putting it in her mouth and was very excited by what i was giving her

she may want more through out the day then, maybe start weaning, she will still take as much boobie when she wants hun but if you try giving her some baby porridge in the morning (very good for babies) and some food with you attea time, maybe a rusk mixed with expressed boobie milk (which she loves) she may settle shes nearly 4 months old and like you said she is showing an interest in feeding just bland things to start with, i weaned alfie when he was waking through night as he was going through and it was after his growth spurt too so i knew it wasnt him having a spurt. try it Tash if you or Olivia arent comfortable with it then you can stop but see if it makes any difference

I think she is ready for more, I do have baby porrige here so I may give her some this evening and see how it goes. Shes always watching me eat, has done for the past 2 weeks.

when you say t spoons do you mean SHE has two teaspoons or you mix two t spoons?

After I give her rice she wants boob staright away and spends a good 30 mins feeding, and does that troughout that day, has a break for two hours when she naps then starts again
Ill have ago tonight and see what she thinks of it all, its upto her, if she wants abit more im sure she will take it.

tash make her up two teaspoons of rice as the box says and give her it all.
it doesn't mean she should only have two teaspoons. It means mix two teaspoons of it which makes quite a lot.

thats the best thing hun go by what Olivia tells you she wants, by taking an interest in you eating and trying to spoon feed herself shes telling you she is ready and there is nothing wrong with giving her bland stuff to begin with and she will still enjoy her boobie feeds just as much (alfie still loves his milk along with 3 meals the gannet) and hopefully your little poppet will start sleeping through for you with a nice full belly

what i do is feed from one boob first then solid food then boob again.

two t spoons of powdered rice will be just nice for her once or twice a day. its not weaning as such. just topping up and trying.

Yes Alfies mummy she shows a big interest in food, ill see how it goes and see what she wants and hopefully sleeps abit more
