Hi All
This is my first post in a mummy section....feels strange but wonderful
We've spent the whole day in hospital with Libby today
When I was discharged from hosp on Mon they weren't confident that she had had a wee.....plenty of poo but no wee So I was advised to keep some cotton wool in her nappy to see if that showed anything, anyway long story short and its been dry ever since. MW came y'day and then phoned today to say she was coming back out to check her over again as they were concerned that 'the picture wasn't matching the result'.
She is a very happy contented baby, I'm bfing and she's not grumpy or grizzly, very chilled and settled so they were happy that she was feeding enough, just couldn't work out why she wasn't passing urine. So they sent us up to the Childrens Emergency Dept this morning, and after stripping her down and getting ready to check her she did the biggest wee ever all over the bed I have never been so happy to see someone elses wee
Anyway.....they then decided to test the wee by taking a sample from the saturated bed sheet ( ) and the results came back that she had an infection - obviously, there was a possibility that the wee could be contaminated as it wasn't a 'clean sample' so we have spent 6 hours today balancing our naked daughter on a pot waiting for her to wee again (not an easy task and certainly not the most comfortable for me or her especially when trying to bf at the same time as my milk came in today so she wanted booby every couple of hours).....hoping it wasn't going to take another 3 days
Finally at 5.20pm, just after they were making preparations to tfr me from day ward to be admitted with her - she wee'd covering me in the process (but I got lucky as she poo'd on DH when he was holding her )
All looked ok with the sample when they tested it so they have sent us home, but they are sending the sample off for examination and we'll know more on Friday.
What a day!! (Sorry for the long post )
