This may sound like a silly topic but at what point do you move on from baby shampoo to normal shampoo?

My lo recently turned two and has thick blonde curly hair. Recently during a night away I forgot her shampoo so used my Pantene shampoo and the conditioner, her hair had never been nicer, it came up lovely. I told my sister in law and she had such a go at me saying i should stick to baby shampoo or coconut oil

I was quite taken aback but tbh I've kept using Pantene since. She only has it washed two or three times a week which is mainly because the curls can get quite knotted and matted

She has very sensitive skin and did have bad eczema but that's under control with Himalayan salt and Hasnt reacted to the Pantene so is it really so bad?

Coconut oil to wash hair? I've never heard of that?!

I'd say it's fine if it's not reacting with her skin, the only difference is that Pantene etc likely have silicone which is what helps add shine etc. I still use children's shampoo on my toddler but my friend has used her own shampoo on her lb for a long time with no issue x

Thanks for the reply

Tbh my sil has one child who is only 7months so I wouldn't consider asking her for advice or anything but she spoke to me quite harshly. There's definitely no reaction so I'll keep using the nice stuff

I would just be careful with the amount of silicones and Sulphates in adult shampoo if she has curly hair. I have curly hair and wish that I had known when younger that the sulphates were drying my hair out in the long run. I now use body shop shampoo which is sulphate and paraben free and a herbal essence naked conditioner which has no silicones. They can be a little more costly but your daughter will thank you when she is older and you only need a tiny amount so last for ages.

I would also recommend using an old t shirt to dry your daughters hair instead of a towel as it helps prevent frizz from the friction of drying.

Thanks for your reply.

I already so the t-shirt thing it's great
