Not had a great night. I was cooking dinner when OH came in to tell me something. All of a sudden we heard this almighty thump and Seren started to scream. OH had put her on the sofa and she had seen a toy on the floor and must have leant forwards to get it and fell off. She was crying, he was in bits as he felt so bad. I was pretty calm, fed her to calm her down, checked her over and phoned NHS Direct. They were fab, went through a checklist with me, and gave me some advice. Seren was trying to get the phone and smiling at her daddy so we think she is fine, but am observing her. Hasn't stopped her though as when she was sitting next to daddy she was trying to go forwards. I guess we now know that Seren is very quick and more mobile then we thopught. I knew that one day she would have a bump but it is so bad when it happens. I have been rousing her every hour to make sure she is ok, is going to be a long night. :(

owww bless its horrible when it happens hasnt happened with Harley yet, im dreading it when it does, Dior has had a 1000 bumps to the head

ahh bless i have no doubt matthew will have one soon, he's suddenly learnt to roll from back to front and there is no stopping him he wants to do it all the time and now has to be strapped into his bouncy chair as hes likely to topple out as he seems to think he is more than capable of sitting himself up

Bless her, it has not happened to Dom yet but I know it's only a matter of time. He has had the odd tiny knock and screamed but not a big one.

Aaaww thats a shame for her, Kaiden hasnt had a bump yet but vey nearly a few times hes at the crawling stage now not fully mobile with it so we keep him on his play mat, hope shes feelin better this morning XkelX

hope shes feeling better this morning beanie hun xxx

aww, hope shes ok.

Thanks for your replies. I am exhausted as I had a big scare. I had been rousing her every two hours, then I went to bed and fell asleep. I woke at 4am, and Seren was still asleep (usually wakes at 2am) so I checked on her. She was sleeping so heavily I couldn't wake her so I panicked. Poor Seren was woken up by mummy picking her up and switching on the light, and was not impressed. In fact she was so unimpressed that she woke up every hour to let me know she wasn't happy. But she is fine, big smiles all morning. OH still feels horrible but she smiled at him before he went to work so he feels ok.

Poor bub, it was bound to happen sometime, I'm dreading Ella's first accident. DH would have been in pieces too, he's a big softy. Glad she's ok and sorry you had a bad night :(

Must say though NHS Direct were fantastic. I was put through to a nurse straight away, and she was great. I was really scared that social services would be breaking down my door as I couldn't even answert he question "how did she land", but she was not judgemental at all and I would recommend them (number is 0845 46 47)

Poor little Seren!

It feels awful if you hurt your baby. I once was cutting Zara;s nails when she was 3 months old and she moved and I nipped the end of her finger. She had hysterics and I cried my eyes out.

Another time I was in a public breastfeeding room and one woman pushed past me and Zara's head got bumped really hard against the hand dryer. I was nearly sick.

These babies must be made of sterner stuff than we think!!

I'm so glad she's feeling better :D

Awww beanie I only just saw this, It's so horrible isn't it, I'm sure she's fine, and yes, I love NHS direct too!

Phoebe fell off the bed a few weeks ago.

I totally don't know how it happened as I was standing right there!! It's all a blur to me!!

She cried but calmed down almost as soon as I picked her up. Think it was the shock that made her cry.

She was totally fine and still tries to fall over the edge of the bed and sofa!!

awww bless shell try to do it again just to get the sympathy i do it all the time wit my mum n dad lol only way to get sympathy
hope shes ok hun
