Hi, I've just found out I'm pregnant again.

First time around I had a delayed 2nd stage, resulting in a ventouse delivery and subsequently a 3rd degree tear sewn up in theatre.

My second pregnancy was an elective cesarean, a decision I was more than happy with considering the trauma I had with the first.

My questions surrounds how my scar and scar tissue inside will cope with another pregnancy nearly 3 and a half years later. What is liking to happen during my pregnancy and what can I expect with having a second cesarean?

Any stories you can share with me to prepare/put my mind at ease would be greatfully received..... and hello!! :cheer: :)

I don't have any help to answer ur questions but didn't want to read and run. Hello and welcome to PF, there is talking in another thread called tummy pains or something and the ladies there start talking about birth after c sections. Xx

Hey hon. I have 25 months between my boys - both emergency c sections. My scar held ok during pregnancy an labour. I had a few probs after but I was just unlucky. I have a few friends who've had 2 sections too and we all agree no probs but recovery was a bit slower second time. I would say though tht this could be cos we all had toddlers to look after. U might be allowed to elect for a natural delivery though if u would perfer that. That was what I wanted ideally x xx

Aw thanks for the feedback.

I hadn't even thought about the scar until now. I can feel my tummy pulling inside already and I've only just found out. It freaked me out a bit thinking my scar etc would cope with the stretching.

I won' be having a natural birth though. I had the C-section last time because if I didn't I would run the risk of both kinds of incontinence with the nasty tear the first time.

I recovered brilliantly the first time. I guess I should prepare myself for a bit more of a rough ride this time round. Thank you for your help!

Hey hun I had emergency section with my son, and from my tickers you can see it was only 8 months ago. I have done abit of reading about how your body copes with it also I asked my mum. WHo has had 4 sections with all my brothers and sister and me. The only thing I am finding is my scar twitches and pulls now and again as the baby is growing. I guess when I'm further on I can say more but for now it seems ok.

Your not the only one that had a traumatic birth, I am glad I am going to ask for another section.

Hiya

i had a section 10 months ago and I can 'feel' my scar now pregnant again, but don't have any concerns about it being able to handle being stretched. It's been well healed for a long time and I'm sure yours will be fine too xxxx

Hey there, I can't offer any first hand advice, but my Step sister has had 3 elective c sections with all 3 of her kids, her bump grew and stretched around baby so hopefully you will be ok, if you have any troubles htough speak to MW or Doc xxx

Thank you for taking the time to post girls, I'm feeling a bit better about it all now. I can feel some stretching around there already. I'm sure I'll be fine.

Iv had sections with all 3 of mine theres 5 years between my first 2 and 15 months between my 2nd and 3rd and i didnt feel anything at all, people had told me i might feel some twinges and stuff but i didnt feel a thing. xx

Hi :) I will be having c section number 4 this time round  lol you will be fine hun I have a 2.5 year gap a 1.8 and now 2.1 and I have been fine bounced back each time my pregnancy last time got a bit uncomfortable but that's because that wasn't a great deal of time between middle and youngest so I am sure you will be fine :) if you have only had one c section you could still go for a vbac but after first labour can understand why you might not want to bless you, hope that helps and please feel free to messages for a chat :) xx
