Just wondered how people got on second time round was it Easyer ? Was you on time ? I had my little boy 6 days late after a sweep I was in "established" labour for about 6 hours , I'm hoping for the same or even better :)

My second wasn't any easier in terms of how painful it was but it was significantly shorter. He was 2 days overdue.
Hope your second is as short as the first x

My second was much shorter, with my first I was in early labour for 3 days then 4cm at 3am and lo was born at 8:30am with my second i was in early labour from 6am I arrived at hospital at 4:15pmwas 5cm when mw checked had my waters burst (they were bulging and lo had pood) and he was here at 5pm. I forgot my notes ooops and they were going to send my husband home for them, I told them no lol.

Mine was easier 2nd time. With my first I was in established labour for 15 hours and pushing for about 40mins. This time I was in labour for 2 hours, pushing for about 10 mins. No stitches either time xxx

I like the sound of pushing for 10 minutes! I pushed for an hour last time,it's knackering!

Am I crazy that I don't want a too short a labour?! I don't want it to be over too quickly as this will be my last time. But I'm happy for baby to fly out at the end! :-)

Mine happened very quick, I only got my G&A as I started pushing! It was painful but because it was so quick it didn't seem so bad. Hope u get your epi x

i.guess if its quick it might be different. My contractions started every 3 mins and by the time i had an epi it felt like i wasnt getting a break( i was only about 6 cm though). Out of interest, how long were your labours? They say on average second one is half the time

My first was about 15 hours, I got to hospital at 6cm but then progressed quite slowly. Second was just over 2 hours, I got to hospital and was 3cm then 2 hours later I was pushing. Alot less than half the time, but a lot easier. Hope yours is easier too xxx

Oh wow that is quick in comparison. Did you not labour at home though? Was it 2 hours from start to finish?

I got period pains all day and was having 3 contractions within 10 mins when I went to hospital, but I wasn't in established labour as I was only 3 cm. if you time from the first contractions for each labour I'd say it was 20 hours and 4 hours. I was shocked at how quick things happened second time. X

Ah thanks. 20 hours to 4 is quite a difference.

I didn't get nice regular contractions last time which was why I held on at home so long. I worry about holding on too long this time to make it to hospital! But then there are no rules so I guess it could still take ages. We'll never know.

I had my son at 38w and my daughter in march at 39+6 (day before edd). Def found 2nd better even though it was slightly longer ( by about 20 odd mins) i begged to get cut with my boy as i was struggling and then had stitches and was induced.. with daughter i got the water birth i wanted and came away with some grazes.. but shes made up for it by being demanding where as her brother was a very laid back baby lol.. oh and both lasted 5 hrs from start to finish x

My first was born by emergency c-section due to pre-eclampsia. My second was also born by c-section, nice and calm, but followed by pregnancy-induced hypertension, so another reasonable stay in hospital (13 days). Hmm, so yes, second was probably easier in that the surgery was easier, recovery's been as quick and I actually got to hold my baby straight after he was born, but both as bad as each other in terms of length of hospital stay.

My second was loads easier than my first. For my first, the pain at 6cm was unbearable and I had an epidural. With my second, the pain at 10cm wasn't nearly that bad and with a few pushes we were all done. Also loads faster - first was 17 hours and second was less than 2.

I was 3 days late with my son and this time was 6 days early with my daughter :) xx

Meant to say, I thought labour was more painful with my second but with my first I had a bit diamorphine which I think helped, I only had gas and air this time xx

The hospital say I was 7h, pushing for 7 minutes..really my first 'period' pain was 16 hours before he was born so hoping that bit is abit faster.

Just reading back on this. At the time I last posted I hadn't had my second. But it's interesting because I had a similar experience to this.

My waters broke at 1am and I started getting contractions in the morning. Got painful by 4pm, went to hospital and my cervix hadn't even started!! And was told I wasn't in labour! How can you not be in labour yet contracting painfully?! I was sent home.

Put up with these non labour contractions till 8.00pm when things really kicked off and had the baby at 9.05pm! They recorded me as pushing for 9mins. Which was the time I arrived at the hospital. And they guessed 30 mins of labour based on the car journey in!!
