Keeley has her Pneumococcal injection tomorrow.. i have to tell the nurse she's not having the MMR as i'm doing it privatley and that she's already had the Measles jab last month...

I'm scared
I know what i've done is right for me and Keeley but i always feel that cos i look quite young even tho i'm 22 that they think i'm stupid and don't know what i'm doing

you sound like a brill mam to me, don't think people assume your stupid just cos of your age, you've got a gorgeous happy healthy child so your obviously doing something right!

Trust me age has nothing to do with it, they try and make everyone feel stupid regardless of your age or what your choices are. If thats the decision you have made then its got absolutely nothing to do with them. I've decided to wait till Isaac is 2 to have his MMR, thats if he has it atall, and when I told the nurse at the surgery she was fine with it and didn't try and make me feel daft.

Don't worry about something that hasn't happened yet. It doesn't matter how much you think something is going to be its never how you imagine it. They will probably be understanding and nice to you but if their not then sod em, its only their opinion at the end of the day and they all say something bloody different anyway!!!!

Lou

Don't let anyone make you feel stupid. It's your choice at the end of the day and it's not as if you arn't getting Keeley immunised you are just getting the jabs done seperately (I take it that's what you are doing?)
I don't know if Jake will be having the MMR yet as I havn't looked up enough about it yet but when I make a decision I know that it will be the one I feel is best for Jake.

 For you and Keeley

Yeah i'm having them done seperately. so she has 3 jabs all 6-12 weeks apart.
I know quite alot about it now.

Its quite a bit but i'd rather pay and feel i had done the right thing then worry all the time if i gave her the MMR
The mealses jab is £90
The mumps Jab is £90
and the Rubella jab is £120
But if you pay all together the clinic i've gone to give you a discount :)

I like it as i feel i have peace of mind

Awww hun don't let her make you feel stupid... :) I was 20 when I had Tia and people always used to assume I didn't know anything and just wave it off.... nearly cost Tia her life too when she got meningitis... But I pressed on because I KNEW I was right... my mum said that you spend all your time with that child, and only you know whats truly right for both of you... and it's such a true statement.

If you believe what you are doing is right... then do it.. forget what the "professionals" say... after all how much time have they spent in your shoes'???
