I'm worried about taking my son for his MMR injection as i still dont think its a good idea giving them the jab all in one go. was wondering if anyone has paid privatley, if so could you tell me how much it cost?

:?

Hiya
I had Mason's done seperatley 4 years ago, as far as I can remember it was about £60 to register him as a private patient, and the jabs varied but were each between £60-£90

I had them done at a surgery in Sutton, so not that far from you in Stafford.

Email [email protected] for a full list of who does the single vaccines.

the research into the MMR vacine was absolute rubbish. i really wouldnt worry about the all in one vacine save your money.

I wouldn't want to put my child through all of those extra jabs. :( I think the MMR is fine. :)

At the time I had Mason's done it was all headline news in the papers and I had it done more for my peace of mind than anything else.

I had decided to go for the combined with Brody, because the research was proved to be wrong, but when I looked at that jabs site some things I saw started to change my mind again :(

I think its all down to personal preference. If you are happier for your child to have the single jabs go for it. I am still in 2 minds what to do, its such a tough choice.

My son has slight ADHD, I'm sure of it but I don't think it's due to the MMR and will be giving it to Jade when the time comes too.

I found out this year that i never had the MMR injection, and i'm still alive. Is it really as necessary as they say?

I would recommend (as a childrens nurse) that you look into the effects of measles, mumps and rubella on the child. Yes, they could be lucky and not get any of these horrible diseases, but if I were you I'd get all the FACTs first, before making any rash decisions.
Measles can kill.

I didn't have the MMR either and suffered bad with mumps, I had everything as a kid other than German Measles, my sister had everything and my brother only ever had Chicken Pox so I hope he doesn't get mumps.

Potentially, you could still get measles now, and accidently pass it on to a pregnant woman who could lose her baby. The same goes for every unvaccinated child or adult in the country.

Personally I would always say have it, but seperate or combined is up to you.
