Hey I'm having an early viability scan at 6 + 5, will it be abdomenal or internal

i had one at this time and it was initally abdominal but its soooo small they went internal to have a proper look

I saw little HB then once i had the internal!

Thanks netty. I am so petrified after a mmc at 12 weeks last year. I don't care if we even get a pic just want to make sure there is a heartbeat

i know how you feel this is why i had mine, if you are paying private you will get a pic - thats what i did!

and it was a tiny weeny little pea! It settled my nerves somewhat trimester 1 is a worrying time xx

Did u have another one before ur 12 week scan netty? This one is through the epu so debating paying for a private at 10 weeks

I did, i paid for a further one at 8 weeks because i just couldnt rest! and i saw little kidney bean bub with teeny arms and legs - this one was just abdominal

I am about to upload the pics in my pregnancy journal actually

And to be honest i then fretted until my 12 week scan too! But after this scan i was much more at ease and I am enjoying my pregnancy now

Having a late MMC really does worry the hell out of you xx

I think epu will definitely be internal. I was told that they only do internal scans. Sorry for your loss. Given your history they may offer you another scan. They offered me repeat scans. Goodluck

Fingers crossed wolfmama! Sickness is crippling me today. If I eat I feel sick if I don't I feel sick. I don't mind as I'm just so grateful to be pregnant but I feel so bad for dd and dh as I am just lying on the sofa atm

Keeping my fingers crossed that everything goes well at your scan. Although I've not got any personal experience, I read a bit when we were deciding when to book our early one. As you're so early, I would expect it to be internal. We had ours around 8 weeks and it was abdominal.

I had a scan to rule out an ectopic pregnancy at 7w 2d, it was an external scan. I thought it'd be internal as I'm morbidly obese but she said 'let's just try the external first' and it worked fine! Mine was at the Early Pregnancy Unit.

Thanks moomin I am optimistic that it will all be OK so fingers crossed I am right. I was meant to have the scan on the same days as u but the midwife double booked me

Hey moomin, I have had severe nausea this week but I refuse to complain as just so glad everything is OK. How r u? Can't believe ur 12 week scan is this week

I'm the same in that I refuse to complain. I'm still so exhausted I feel like such a wet blanket but so be it!! Hope the nausea settles for you soon.

Yeah scan is Thursday. It feels like it's come quick in some ways but I think this week will drag!!

I think only when u have struggled u feel like that. Sickness has been bad enough that I needed tablets from the doc which I've only took one of today and they have really helped but tbh I would take this sickness the whole way through if it meant all was OK haha. It really has flew in so much, can't believe we r only a month apart. Hope the tiredness eases soon for u, I can relate to the wet blanket atm haha
