One of Austin's friends has got Rubella :(

He's 18 months old & has had all his jabs including the MMR but apparently a small percentage of kids can still get it even after the MMR.

Austin is due his MMR in 3 weeks time and has been in REALLY close contact with this little boy (eating off the same plate & drinking from the same cups!) so I think he might get it too.

I'm not worried for me because I was tested for immunity at the beginning of my last pregnancy & was immune so I don't think I can possibly catch it. I just don't want my little boy to get it!

Try not to worry too much, rubella is more common then people think, and in fact some children get it and are never diagnosed with it as they have it so mild. It is typically a mild illness, especially in young children.

There was a outbeak at Seren's nursery, which bypassed her but I just looked up the symptoms so I could keep an eye out for her. I found this lik very helpful ( clicky

Hope he is ok and if he does get it he's better quickly
