So after 3 years ttc and three chemical pregnancies, I am finally 5 weeks pregnant!! I know this one feels different ie feel sick constantly. I know your not meant to tell people till after 12 weeks but I want to scream it from the rooftops. I know should the worst happen it would be hard if people know, but been there done that and I actually found that having the people close to me know that they could support me through the hard time.

Do people really keep it between themselves for 12 weeks?

I told my fam early on and its the worst thing I did  my mum pushed me to tell everyone early. Everything was fine but it just kinda felt all rushed to me? Looking back Id really wish I didnt say.

Next time round I wont be telling until at the very least 12 weeks and not to friends until they hear or like 20 weeks. I just felt harrassed during pregnancy. I went over due and was constantly pestered as to when the baby was coming. Because eveyone knew from 7w I felt it dragged in.

So next time no early tellings and no specific due date.

Each to their own it depends on if you believe, i believe what will be will be. Some ladies tell early on and all is fine, some ladies wish they hadnt because a loss is difficult to constantly explain.

Totally personal, but I understand your excitment.

Congratulations.

xxxx

We've told close family but it's nice to have a little secret!! With my first I told a lot more people a bit earlier, which was also nice. Given all you've been through, you know about why you wouldn't tell, and you know what it feels like. So go for it!! Xx

I am in a similar position to you Hun after TTC for over 3 years, a mc and chemical I also want to shout it from the roof tops!! I have told close family and friends and collegues at work (had to really in order to protect myself and baby) plus we have been through Ivf so everyone knows our situation and if anything went wrong then I would need support from all of the people I have told... I cannot see the issue with telling people before 12weeks, it won't change anything and after all you have been through why not shout it from the roof top it's amazing! Congrats Hun and here is to a healthy and happy 9 months xxx

Completely understand how you feel!!!!
As it is our first one as well and we have been talking about it since we met (seriousely it was one of the things we dicussed before we actually got together).
So after marriage etc we finally started trying and now we just constantly look at eachother wanting to tell everyone.

We told my parents and sister (my mom would have killed me if I would have called her with a 'oh, btw I'm 12 weeks pregnant). My Hubby told his mom. (I told him to as I knew he didn't feel as if it was real yet... telling someone does make it feel more real!).
Other then that only the doctors know, but it is so hard to keep quiet!!!

I just do not want everyone to know yet because I still do not feel any different myself and I guess it first needs to feel real to me before I go and tell everyone about it and have to answer question after question. But very much looking forward to the day we are going to screem it of the rooftops!

I'm in a bit of denial after 2 m/c at 7 weeks and me being nearly 6w now. I've not told my family I can't bare the look of pity in their eyes should anything go wrong. but I have told a few people at work. My boss and the floor manager because they need to know due to me now not wanting to do any heavy lifting and 3 of my friends one who is ttc herself (We started roughly the same time) and two more girls i'm close to. one bloke figured it out but i wasn't gonna tell him but i started to eat lunch and not go out for a smoke etc so he just guessed. I'm happy now with those that know. With my son i told grandparents and noone else til 13 weeks that was quite good but the grandparents found it the hardest. The 2nd pregnancy which ended badly i told everyone and that wasn't great but I found out just before xmas and I had told everyone that it was my first xmas off in 8 years so i was bloomin having a drink then i found out i was pregnant so i couldnt! The second m/c some people knew it was a 2nd pregnancy other still thought it was the 1st one after my son so thats an unusual situation. I think just telling a few close people works best personally. I've decided to tell the people that I want to help me through a m/c should I have one.
My OH.
My bosses,
My close friends and I guess as of yesterday you guys.

I told everyone straight away with both pregnancies. I was being sick constantly all day so it was hard to keep it a secret, plus im quite an open person so figured id tell them if I lost it so may as well tell them anyway!

I was kind of forced into telling my mum at 6 weeks. She was going to buy expensive meet and greet concert tickets for when I would have been 23 weeks and she is in a wheelchair and I wouldn't have been able to push her. As we told my mum we had to tell the OH parents. I had a bleed at 7 weeks so my boss knew as off sick but my other colleagues didn't find out until I was 14 weeks as dating scan was late at 13+6. My sister was told when I was 8 weeks. It is so hard not to say.

My mum new the day i got my bfp both times lol!!!
Cloae family new within a few days too!

Lol, I told my OH not to tell anyone until 12 weeks or our first scan, as soon as i started talking to close family I couldn't contain myself Im so excited, now everyone close knows aha!

I told my sister as soon as I found out I was pregnant, so I could ask her to deal with my mum's cat's litter tray! We haven't told anyone else yet. I was going to try to wait until 12 weeks after the scan, but the time is dragging in and I don't know how I'll manage that! Think we may compromise by telling both mums a few weeks before the scan. It's hard to know what to do for the best. Can appreciate what you're saying russellmuscle about the hassle! Assuming this pregnancy continues and goes ok, this will be the first grandchild on both sides and I think both our mums may get a little carried away...

When we found out that I was pregnant my husband and I decided not to tell anyone until 12 weeks, but now that's kinda gone down the drain...we've told our families, and some friends. So hard when people want to make plans, but you know you won't be able to make it - our family is overseas and they kept pestering us about booking our flights for next summer, which obviously won't happen now that we'll have a baby in May.

Also telling work tomorrow because I'm tired of sneaking around making excuses when I'm sick. Bit worried about that, though.

I hope all will go well with your pregnancy...I think I'd just tell the people I'd also want to talk to if things went badly...but that's also because I'm an awful liar and I usually crack after a few moments.
