hi wonder if anyone can help me?
basically i got a red slip on monday morning when i was out. I know you are supposed to leave 24 hours before collecting it but sometimes they
are in the same day so i went in to check..it wasn't there so fair enough!

so i went back in yesterday and it still wasn't there, the guy said it should def be in today..but you guessed it..it wasn't!!! they told me to come back tomorrow..but i'm getting sick of going in surely it should be there now!

they can't say it was lost in the post as they had it and attempted to deliver it..how could it get lost in between then and now unless its been stolen..which would be thick as its traceble to the postman that tried to deliver it monday! anyway i am peed off because i know its an ipod
i bought off ebay- the guy should have sent it recoreded not 1st class normal post but thats not the point the post office had it!, so surely they are in the wrong??
what shall i do??

I thought usually when they leave a delivery card you only have to leave it 2 hours before going to pick it up.

TBH it sounds as though it's been stolen :(

Did the guy on ebay list it as being sent recorded delivery? If so can you not dispute it and cos he won't have a recorded slip you win- I dunno i'm crap on ebay but hope you see what i'm saying

yeah i know what you mean-thanks hun!

i knew it was being sent first class- so my dispute isnt with the guy on ebay-i mean if i had been in on monday i would have it! so its not his fault its the post office

Thats not really fair though because the sender sent the item - its Royal mail that should be paying for it. You can fill in a form for lost / stolen items but you need to wait at least a month to be able to claim anything back I'm afraid. Give the royal mail office a good talking to and make sure they know your reporting it to the head office or something to look into it.

i will be giving them a good piece of my mind- the postman that tried to deliver it has his id number on the red slip, it seems to me they need to ask him what he did with it firstly!

i know its not the guy on ebays fault i have no problem with him,
i just know royal mail will say " well it should have been sent recored"
which is pushing the blame really and totally beyond the point!

yes but if he had listed it as recorded delivery then sent it normal it would of been his fault which was my point

I hate to point this out butthey may also say you have to prove it was an ipod

Defo go back tomorrow, but I would refuse to leave until you have the issue resolved...I would probably call in advance too if there was a tel. no to warn them I was on my way! x

i tried calling them today so i could check if it was there before dragging hayden all the way there like the last 2 days :(
but they wouldnt answer the phone so i had to go there!

well i can show them my ebay account that an ipod was sent and the guy can confirm it but hey its not as if it was an expensive new one it was a mini 4gb one used that i paid £30 for so i doubt they'll dispute it!

It's not the ebay sellers fault but if it's lost they'll have to claim and not you since officially they were the royal mail customer. Even if it wasn't recorded they can still claim up to £32 if they got proof of posting but again this is their job and not yours. RM might contact you to confirm you never received the package. The only reason to send recorded really is to comply with PayPal seller rules that require sent items to be sent online trackable/have proof of delivery - you can still only claim up to £32. Basically to protect the seller in case a buyer claims they didn't receive an item when they did.

I would contact the ebay seller and let them know what has happened - hopefully you can get them to refund you and make a claim themselves.

i dont think thats very fair on the ebay seller this has nothing to do
with him- as i said before if i had of been at home on the monday i
would of had my ipod- my feeling is that someone at the post office has stolen it as they physically had it and i have proof that they did (my attempted delivery slip) so i will be strongly taking it up with them and not the person who sent it- its not simply a case of it being lost in the mail- i know that they had it as they tried to deliver it- i went to collect it
a couple of hours later and it was not there- therefore the postman or someone at the sorting office has lost or stolen it in that short period.

ps this is directed towards royal mail- i know what your saying is right
i'm just saying that roayal mail suck! basically- lol

thanks for the advice :-)

try royalmail.com/redelivery

then they have to take it back to your house at a convenient day to suit you. i've never had a problem doing it this way, i never go the post depot anymore :)

Yep they're a pain in the arse. I remember once I send an animal handfeeding mix to one of my friends whose pet was sick in a bag with instructions and then wrapped in a jiffy bag. Basically it looks like a bunch of mixed dried herbs. When it got to her the bag had been opened and all that was in it was the instructions.

Only then did I think that it might have felt and looked like something a bit suss... so I hope there's a postie sitting at home somewhere smoking (and trying to get high on) some hay and probiotics. :rotfl:

I agree with you that royal mail suck my family have posted things to me here in Holland and many times it has been opened and things taken from it then resealed with a royal mail bag on it...
Where do people get off stealing from others.

I GOT IT! :cheer: :cheer:

thank god for that- went in and apparently it had accidently been filed with
stuff that was recorded delivery and a really nice woman was sorting them out and found it! she was very apologetic and said the postman that put it there needs a kick in the teeth.,..lol
