Hello everyone... I sadly had two miscarriages this year (one in January and second in July). My GP referred me to gynae consultant to investigate the recurrent miscarriages. They both were at eight weeks. I've had all the tests done now which included internal scan and blood tests. I went to see the consultant yesterday to get the results. I was told that all the results came back negative and there isn't anything he could see that would've been causing recurrent miscarriages! This might sound a little strange but even though I'm glad that there's nothing wrong with me medically but I feel as I have come to a dead end and don't know what to do.. We haven't been trying since the last miscarriage. If we're to start trying and this it happens again then what..? I'm just so confused! :((

I am sorry you are going through this hon.

I to had 2 mc's this year but they were my 3rd and 4th. I was sent for tests which included blood tests and an internal scan. I got my results last month and it came back that my blood is sticky and doesn't unclot so there is something that can be done for me. I am sorry that yours came back inconclusive but I hope that you do start trying again and that you do get that sticky bean that you want.

All my love.

Lee-Ann x

Hi, I had the tests earlier this year after 3 mcs, and all came back normal. However, for this pg, my consultant has prescribed aspirin, heparin and progesterone to support the pregnancy. I have no idea if this will work yet. He says that its on the basis that none of it will do any harm, but there are loads of obscure clotting issues that they don't test for even in the RMC screening tests (which are pretty inclusive - did you have the 11 tubes of bloods taken???).

The reasearch i have done into this agrees there is certainly no harm. Interestingly, there doesn't seem to be much positive evidence for the aspirin/heparin, but there is certainly some evidence now for progesterone support. It will be worth asking if your gp or specialist will prescribe this to try when you next get pg.

Did they check your vit d? Most people in this country are low - and there is loads of stuff out there about vit d links to fertility and mc.

Hi thanks for your reply.

Wish you all the best Lee-Ann for future pregnancies.

Flisstebs, I had 7 seven tubes of blood done. Internal scan and all normal. The consultant did mention about asprin but nothing else though and folic acid that's it. I'm seeing my GP next week so will try to get to prescribe some more meds. I don't think they checked vitamin D but will check with my GP next week - thanks and wish you all the best xx

Sali, I can see what you mean, that if they had found an issue, they could then treat it, but it may mean that there is nothing to say you would have a mc next pregnancy, my good friend had 3 kids all fine, then had 3 mc in a row and then fall preg , they monitored her closely , but she took no extra drugs etc and the pregnancy was fine.

Wishing you all the luck for a sticky bean very soon x

Hi,

I have been told that as soon as I get pregnant again (the day I get my BFP) I am to call my gynea and my doctor and they will prescribe me Heparin and Aspirin and I have to take those each day for 34 weeks.

I hope this is something that they can prescribe you x
