Calleigh has started to refuse solids, she will maybe have a nibble on some toast at breakfast but will refuse the rest of the days food. I have tried feeding her she point blank refuses that even with her favourite yogurt, have given her foods to feed herself but she just isnt interested she has recently started to cry to get out of the chair :(

She is feeding from me still and had recently upped that especially throughout the night i think she may be having a growth spurt.

She has been ill with a cough and cold then an ear infection but she has been much better for a few days now.

I think i am starting to panic now as i return to work the beginning of January full time and she doesnt take a bottle so what on earth will she survive on at nursery. I am actually feeling sick with worry

Has anyone ever had issues like this with their child? How did things work out?

If DD consumes the equivalent of a heaped teaspoon of food then that is a very hungry day for her. She just doesn't want to eat.

As for nursery, will she take a sippy cup? My friend is going back to work in January and rather than get her daughter to try milk from a bottle she gives her a sippy cup and that works well for them

Good luck!

Oh yeah she will drink water from a sippy cup but rejects it if there is milk in it :wall:

OH is going to try a bottle again later but i doubt that she will ever take it.

Don't panic... shes been ill and just probably doesn't require food right now :) She will eat again :) They go through these fases of eating like gannets and then not eating at all. She will eat more once she starts nursery too... At the moment she is making up the calories by feeding more from you. Lil miss was doing the same and today her appetite is back with a vengeance...

Lil miss always rejects milk unless its from boob but will happily drink water from a straw. Bf'd babies just make up for it when they are with you :) I used to get really worried about expressing but now I just don't bother so much... she won't take it anyway and just feeds loads from me when we are together.

If she is nibbling on toast then maybe try diferent toast toppings like marmite cheese or banana, or any mashed up fruit.

She probably just still feels a bit rough from being ill and she may have lost her sense of taste so she's just getting textures at the moment.

Isaac went through a fussy stage, you just have to give them what they will eat and persevere. If you are really worried you could always buy some vitamins drops so you know she is getting everything she needs while she's not eating much. I've done this with Isaac before, especially after he has been poorly.

She definately is making up for it by feeding from me as i am struggling to fill her up with her feed before bed.

After reading your posts i feel a little better, i think i am just feeling under pressure as its only a matter of days before i return to work and for a full five days a week.

May get some vitamin drops just so i know she is getting what she needs when she isnt eating.
Will be sending formula with her to nursery so they can try her as well.

Remember that nutrition wise she need 500-600ml of milk a day. I have no idea what she's on now but DD used to have over a litre a day. She would be able to get that amount in 2 feeds if they were big ones. If they are small feeds it may take 4. I don't know if this reassures you, I hope so.
