Red, heavy bleed after DTD

Currently 11+5 pregnant but last night we DTD and not long after I had a bright red, dischargy bleed. DH said there was a clot on him when he got in the shower after he just didn't tell me.

I phoned 111 who sent me to the ED who then booked me a scan for Tuesday morning.
(I have my 12 week scan on Wednesday morning and the doc knew this when boooking me one last night) but said a bleed like this can be caused by a number of things.

Today I have had some brown blood (not a lot) when I wipe and a few right side sharp twitches where the ovaries are. I'm fearing the worst right now, naturally.

Has anyone else experienced this? What was the outcome?

I haven't personally experienced it, but didn't want to read and run. I would be inclined to guess you have just irritated your cervix, given the timing of the bleed, and everything is in fact perfectly fine.

I agree with elven. Pregnancy does some weird things to the body so it could be something minor. Keeping my fingers crossed this is the case x

This happened to me with my first pregnancy. I bled like a heavy period after DTD- every time. It was stressful at first then I began to anticipate it. Baby was fine. Hope you’re feeling ok!

I'm doing ok. Not really even sure how I'm feeling.
I've decided to go for the scan tomorrow just so I know.
I know my 12 week one is the day after but the sooner I know the better.

Everything was fine this morning. Baby was wriggling, waving & kicking to us. Still have my 12week scan tomorrow. They can't explain the bleed and just said sometimes it just happens.

I'm so happy and relieved for you that you and baby are doing well! Such a scary thing to go through, but it must have been lovely to see your little bug all wriggling and waving at you today, happy and healthy
