Hi ladies,

So I'm thinking I should probably start thinking about buying some nappies and toiletries etc. But I'm at a loss as to what brand, do I stick with pampers. I used pampers with my last two babies, or do I go more cost-effective and try a stores own brand? Same thing with toiletries, do I stick with Johnsons or try a different, cheaper brand.

What do or are you planning on using?

Xxx

I have bought asdas little angels nappies I have used them with my other children and never had a problem. I was gifted some Johnson and baby dove toiletries in my baby shower gifts so will use those. They always last forever xx

I have found that the best nappies by far are by a brand called Rascal and Friends. They’ve just launched in the UK so if you see them, give them a go. They’re organic, “nasty free” (which is a bonus since most nappies are full of loads of chemicals), they never ever leak, and they’re a pretty mint colour! :)

I too have gone for Asda’s little angels. £2.50 for 70 newborn nappies - cant go wrong! I used these with my others & they were fine. Some people talk of nappies leaking, regardless of brand but that can happen with any brand. When baby does the huge explosion poos sometimes no brand can keep all of that contained Lol

From my experiance it's trial and error. We used Tesco with my eldest (after trying pampers and huggies which she had reactions tio) they were perfect.
For our second we tried Tesco but they were no good so asda for him until he started moving then no nappy was safe Haha
This one were starting with Tesco but will prob change to lidl.
I personally don't like pampers. Both my kids had reactions to them and they are way overpriced.

I used Tesco’s with both my girls and never had any problems. I did get some from Aldi when I could and they are cheap and really good! I’ve heard a lot of mums say they are the best. But we just don’t have an Aldi near us. :( xx

I personally find Aldi are great for my little boy and we have used those since birth, with the exception of a few gift packs of pampers from baby shower etc.
We will be using them again with our next but sometimes babies can react to different brands, so it does come down to trial and error with each baby mostly. Xx

I use pampers premium. So soft and absorbent. I have also tried pampers dry nappies and did not like them at all. I have also tried various eco friendly nappies and they felt very stiff. So I stick with pampers premium.

I used Aldi’s nappies for my daughter and loved them. Would definitely recommend. I always felt pampers nappies smelt weird but it might just be me x

Don't have an issue with Pampers but they're so expensive and not worth the money. We used Aldi for newborn nappies but slightly prefer Lidl for size 3. No brand is going to be 100% leak proof but we hated Asda. So many leaks compared to any other brand we tried - had loads from baby shower. We actually abandoned them mid pack!

People always say how good supermarket own brands are. I was convinced I’d be buying them but then I saw pampers in Costco and they actually work out cheaper.

Tbh. I think you just need to try most of the brands out and then stick with the one you like best.

Do they not sell them online? I know they sell other things online now

I've heard Aldis are really good and I'm planning on trying them first.
With my Daughter I used Asda Little Angels and they worked very well, so will be my second choice. x

Thanks ladies,

I've opted to try Aldi nappies first. Fingers crossed we get on ok with them, they are so cheap! Save a small fortune on nappies alone if baby gets on with the aldi ones :D
