Ok so me and OH think we have finally narrowed it down to 3 names to choose from. We are going to be giving her the middle name Margaret as it means a lot to the family and is also my middle name. Our surname is Griffiths.

First names (in no particular order of preference)

Alana (not sure on spelling yet). Worried slightly as our cat is called Nala,is this to similar?!
Amber
Skye

Honest opinions pls ladies as I'm hoping this thread could help us decide.

I love alana! Forget about your cats name its nothing alike

Margaret is a hard one to match its such a classic name but I think alana goes well

Alana Margaret Griffiths

 fapatalking

Honestly?

I don't like the name Alana, however it's spelt. This is purely because of a primary school bully... This is a personal thing and would not expect it to impact on your decision, of course.

Skye is a name I would have had on my short-list, had I got a pink-flavour. I think it's lovely :)

Amber is also lovely... And I think it fits a little better with Margaret Griffiths... Just kinda rolls a little easier, in my opinion.

So, to sum up: I've been of no use at all, would personally choose between Skye or Amber. :) xx

And Netty would go with Alana, so you're back to square one.

Sorry :) xx

I agree with netty. Alana is my fave and I think it all goes nice together with the middle and surname :)

Tapatalking :)

I really like all 3! Sorry I'm no use but you have good taste in names! X

I love the name Amber and would have had it on our "list" BUT our cat is called Amber

Out of your names I def prefer Amber

xxxxxxxx

ohhhh alana is lovely i liked laney for a girl until someone named their dog it....xx

I love the name Amber - it's on my list.

And Nala is my cat's name too! Lion King kitty :)

You love that kitty too much missy

I think you'll need a name with 3 syllables to go with Margaret well x

 fapatalking

I think amber suits best skye is very contemporary compared to margaret amber is an older name but still sounds youthful and would suit at any age

I think all 3 are very pretty, we had Skyla on our list for pink. I also love Amber xx

hmmm thats actually tricky as I quite like them all... I love the isle of Skye, there was a little Amber in my baby group at the same time as my daughter years ago, and she really suits her name esp as she is now 10 and all grown up.. and Alana, well I used to play ice hockey with an Alan who would be in her 20's now and she was sooo lovely, so none have been ruined for me...

sorry not much help.. AMG or SMG for initials then...

I agree with mummywanabe...Amber is more classic than Skye so goes well with Margaret. My name is Alice Margaret by the way :)
Anyway, taking the middle name out of the equation as she won't introduce herself with it, I think Amber Griffiths is lovely.
Alana is nice but I went to school with a girl with that name and every single teacher struggled to pronounce it. All said 'Alarna' but she pronounced it 'A-lay-na' iykwim. Alana/Allanah/Alanah is becoming quite popular too...not sure if that bothers you though.

Good luck with your decision! Xx
